I mean we're here in 2024! I just can't believe this interview took place 10 years ago. Honestly telling I landed here by accident in search for some explanation on the novel for academic purpose. Who would have thought the author herself is such a gem. Her eloquent speech, dulcet tones and sense of presence are just too legit to the point and I wouldn't mind listening to her speak for hours. I'm definitely reading her works.

Very much apparent the author has the academic knowledge of both political & social unrest of Bangladesh...specifically of early 70's. It is also apparent, based on her presentation, however hidden, to go such a length - writing a book, must have been greatly influenced by her own family members! After-all Bangladeshis take great pride discussing the war time survival stories. I hope western world will continue finding facts and stories thru her creative writings.
