@Tsusday

@@PathwaysOfZen It's about hearing stuff when machinery is still going. You don't want to add useless noise on top of machinery noise that is already loud, if your workers get into an accident, a limb stuck in a machine, the combined machinery+music noise could make it impossible to hear the yelling of pain. Or you know, just sometimes, some lower end noises from breaking down machinery that melds into the music that you won't catch. Working with heavy machinery should always be security first, enjoyment last. There's a reason we need to make videos on machinery safety and work site safety even in 2024.

We've got a guy at work, he lost his right arm above the elbow a couple of years back. He was operating a screen and put his hand under a conveyor belt to clear a piece of wood. He'd done it 100 times before. The belt snagged his sleeve and dragged him in. The moral of the story is you can break the rules regarding personal safety and get away with it for years but one day it just might catch up with you. Safety is a routine, a habit. You do it very day regardless. You leave the jewellery at home, ALL of it. You tie the hair up, eliminate loose clothing, wear safety footwear, eye and hearing protection, helmet and anything else relevant to the job you're doing or site you're working at. Do all that and there's a real good chance you'll reach old age in one piece. If you don't want to take personal safety seriously I suggest you girls do advanced first aid. It may come in handy when one of you has a crushed leg, severed hand, scalped, pierced eye, broken back etc. These things take more than a band aid and a sling. Good luck girls, If you're going to neglect your safety then you'll need it.

Hello Log Capital as a DIY wood worker I watch your channel and appreciate that its great to see the whole family working together. Just a comment the space where the saw dust collects is only a few feet wide. If you raised the height of the roof and moved the LT 40 out from the cement wall you could make the space wide enough to pick up the sawdust with the front end loader. To this end no more shoveling it!! More time for coffee!!

Emerald, Jade,, your work ethic and skills are beyond excellent. Ofttimes small subtle things, sliding the board neatly into the stack on the trailer. You and I don't think about it, but few can do it,, or at least few do it well. My reason for writing tonight is the lovely long hair. Long hair whether on a man or woman has no place around machinery,,, especially rotating machinery. Learn today to put your hair up. A good tight braid or French braid and even consider once braided, drop it to the inside of the back of your shirt. Or coil it up and secure it. Hair caught in machinery is a progressive accident. It really only requires a few stray strands to be initially captured,, but those few strands draw in other strands and yet more,,, and it all happens in less time than a blink of your eye. It can cause extreme injury. Please become hyper aware of securing your hair before you start a machine. Your hair is lovely, and I love to see long hair, but nearly 60 years of being around machines as an employee, an employer, a business owner, a safety officer, and a brother to three sisters,, put your hair up ! Both of you,, but for some reason,, Jade in particular,, a good solid French braid,, you would look smashing. Then tuck into your shirt or band, or coil up and secure. Stay safe. Stay safe.

I'm a man (the real kind; not the fake or confused kind). I used to have hair as long as the girls' while operating farm machinery, and tools while repairing said machinery. I also worked in a guitar factory decades later with same long hair. On the farm it was banded and under Ye Olde Flannel Shirt (farmer's uniform) or baseball cap (farmer's helmet). In the guitar shop it was never allowed near a spinning device. I came up with a phrase in 1976: Man Against Machine - Machine Wins Every Time. The only trouble I ever had with long hair was going through the jungles of New Guinea. I got it caught in some branches in the thick Highlands rain forest. I had loaned my machete to one of my guides and he came up to me with it and at first I thought I was ready for the cookpot but he just cut my hair out of the tangle and we went on. I guess I was too skinny for a decent meal. I'm telling these stories to illustrate that in over 20 years around heavy equipment and power tools we never had any accidents/injuries... OK... well... there was that time that the lawnmower tire exploded when we tried to fill it with air, and that other time when I fell onto the shop floor after putting all of my weight into a lugnut with a breaker bar and the lug gave way... but that didn't have anything to do with being a Hippie.

@@vaccinefraud5570 I will begin with a compliment 20 years working around machines and no serious injuries. You must not only be very lucky you must be extremely observant and careful. I still have all of all ten fingers but not by much. I could relate 20 stories of close calls on just my own hands. Lots and lots of experience and seen lots or injuries and I state with some confidence,, most or nearly all were preventable with a bit or foresight. Long hair is a particular,,, because I have seen what a spinning drive shaft or spinning drill press can do, and,, I don't want anyone to see that. Its a simple thing like wearing a seat belt or wearing a PFD when in a canoe. Most people will never need it,, but if you do,,,

A good friend of mine had an unfortunate run- in with hemlock lumber. He was cutting a piece to deck the flatbed on his truck and there was a large knot. The chop saw caught the knot and it pulled his hand in all but severing it. Surgeons spent 12 hours reattaching his hand. It has been a year and a half and he has full use, but still lacks feeling in some areas. These things will bite when you least expect it.

@@hidingfromu5293 I’m not completely sure of the events leading up to his accident. From what he can recall, some things are a blank, he felt the blade bind and somehow, it pulled the wood up bringing his hand in contact with the blade.

Have you asked the local fire department to demonstrate how to operate a fire extinguisher and how to use it when knocking down a different kinds of fires? It's what they do. They have extinguishers to use for training.

Wow that is a dream Bandsaw mill compared to the one my dad and I worked on 30 years ago! This one is well thought up! the one we had was portable and it was 28 feet long, We were able to cut 36 inch thick logs, you had to walk back and forth with the head rig, And it didn't have a log roller we had to use a can't hook to turn the logs with. We're lucky to have the log lift to get the log on the mill. lol At the time we were cutting Tamarack logs in - 40 weather. the head rig was not chain operated it had metal wheels with a groove in them on a metal track which caused the head rig to slip. pain in the butt that was lol. I can still hear my Dad cursing a bout it ha ha. I wish he was still alive to see this mill. definitely a good investment. Do you sharpen your own blades? That's a fun boring job in its own, but it is worth while to learn how to do, Band saw blades aren't cheep. and neither is paying someone to sharpen them for you. Thank you for the video it brought back some good old memories for me. Take care be safe and always be happy and healthy Cheers!

Hey ladies, I absolutely LOVED this video! Congratulations on 50k subscribers!! ... Always REALLY interesting to watch the process of what you do! And beautiful ladies operating the machines and doing properly hard work! (Hats off to you! You must be deceptively strong by now all this manual labour! 👍💪) And the music was spot on! Very Santana sounding (not sure if it was) ...This was like one of those ASMR videos, properly relaxing! I could have watched that for hours proper chilled me out! I nearly fell asleep afterwards and it's like 11am! Lol 😂🤣🤦🏻 ... Wood, machines, chilled music, and beautiful ladies (who work hard), thrown in for good measure! -What's not to like!? 😉 Just one thing echoing what someone else said and I pointed out before you really should be wearing masks and eye and ear protection all the time, and make sure you're taking ALL the necessary health and safety precautions!(working with heavy Machinery and WOOD DUST is deadly breathing it in over time. Plus odd random splinters or hearing damage from the machines, and obviously large wood just needs lifting correctly! So as not to mess yourself up/back etc. As someone who messed my own back up between age of 20-25 (before I realised!). You have to lift CORRECTLY EVERY time, and try to move around the machines and wood correctly every single time, not leaning over or twisting etc, as you won't notice any damage being done until one day "BANG" (literally!) your back "goes" (usually just doing something minor/mundane) and then it turns out youve worn all your discs and joints in your spine over time didn't realise and then it's irreversible, permanent, chronic-pain/damage! (I blew mine at 25 years old, had failed major spine op and now chronic pain/ cocktail of pills/ can't do anything physically demanding) all due to the place I worked not sticking to health and safety! (And I knew no better) ...I was Always strong as an ox, stocky, strong, super fit, bodybuilding, playing many sports etc, so was a shock as had no clue I was damaging my back from age 20 at work and took 5 or 6 years before it SUDDENLY "went" out the blue! Sorry for the essay, Just trying ensure you don't hurt yourselves too, now or down the line! Absolutely Love your videos and hard work/dedication and really enjoy that you love what you do! Cheers from London 👍💪❤️😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
