Tip for salvaged high salvage right mechs. Wear the down by blowing off the arms and side torsoes then hit the legs. The more a mech is damaged the less salvage points you need to take it.

Good video. The extended sensor range is definitely worth it. I'm currently paying the base game without the heroes download and finding that my good AC2 and especially LRM's have a range of over a thousand meters. However 25% of that range is largely wasted because my sensors don't typically highlight a target until 760ish meters even though I've had my target reticle on the distant flying/ground target for several seconds. Then I've got to wait a couple more seconds for missile lock. When you're talking fleets by the time my sensors have highlighted and middle locked the flyer is typically in large laser range and I'm lucky you get 1 missile salvo off before shooting the rest down with medium lasers. I should be able to shoot down 2-3 before in med ladder range at least so longer sensor range is a huge advantage against distant targets.

Using a Black Knight myself. I'm using all short burst lasers (3x large, 5x small). The rest is armor and cooling and it runs very cool. The smalls are really nasty to anything that gets close. Very fast firing and heat neutral.

I found a battlemaster for 8m and now I am kicking butt with a ppc on it :) Also, the team members can use a Hunchback with a gauss rifle very effectively. The dropship is actually useful now as ti can attack quite well.

Great playthrough Baradul! I went into Heavy land quickly with an Archer and Grasshopper and took a mission that taught me a good lesson. Warzone with waves of assaults and mediums, I limped out with half a Grasshopper and and missleless Archer. But for sure made you feel like a merc commander having to budget rebuild and go back to smaller missions for cash. Keep up these videos please!

Dont underestimate Urbanmech early-game, Mid-game. They littearly can rip your mechs armor appart in seconds if youre too close to them. Once you do have Long ranged Mechs or mechs that simply can lend fire onto them. The urbanmechs are no Matchs for any High Damage mechs.

For a very good medium mech look for advanced phoenix hawks that carry guardian ecm. If you can find a 1B it has 2 large energy hardpoints. I found mine in the industrial zone around terra.

You can sell mechs that are in cold storage by going through the sell tab in the mech sales market. They will be at the bottom of your mech list. Also, for the collect mech cantina quests, you can also turn those in from cold storage. That way, you keep all of the weapons and accesories and just give them the chassis. And for salvage rights with specific mechs you want, the more damage a mech takes in its destruction, the less salvage points it will cost. Decapitate a mech and it will cost more than the same mech type missing both legs.

Don’t sleep on the Hero Thunderbolt either. 7 M lasers in the torso! 1 L Laser on the arm. Total badass for its weight. Loaded with dbl heat sinks and using the heat upgrades it’s a killer. It has 8 upgrade slots so I also run a total of 7.5% increased armor for fun.

Move the Mech to cold storage and back out for an insta strip, and just fly to higher rep zones/hubs for non tarded pilots and better equipment, Chem lasers are at black markets.

Salvage shares are determined by how much of the mech is left. So while headshots give you a better chance to get stuff to show up on the salvage table, more components lost makes it cost less to take.

On my original playthrough on release I had 2 Blacknights which I assigned to my wingmen, both of which had 2xppc and med lasers, they were hideously effective at killing at range, flyers particularly couldn't get in range of us.

I found a beat up Black Knight in Davion Space at Reputatuon lvl 4. 3 ER L Lasers, 4 M SB laser and removed the small laser for a TAG. Removed most of the single heat sinks for any Doubles I find. Damn this thing is a scalpel.

You can buy Chem Lasers in Black Markets only or get them from Cantina quests (if you want higher tiers). That AC10-BF is nice in a side torso mount unless you swim in cash. Arms of Enforcers or Cents just get blown up

I keep making that mistake at the moment. Headshot or legged is much higher cost than trashed and if you only want it for a turn in then you may as well nuke the sucker. It's just a really difficult habit to break!

A tip for you in case you haven't noticed yet - you can sell mechs straight out of cold storage by going to the Mech Market's Sell tab, and scroll to the bottom. No more needing a spare active slot to sell mechs!

SRM-2 Streams with Artemis IV works just like an SRM-2 with Artemis. There's no relationship with Streak SRMs. Apparently it reduces the spread, so it really only makes sense on SRM-4 or SRM-6 (with or without Stream-fire). BTW I really wish they had called it "Ripple"-fire instead.

I've been using them to counter the final dropship on defense missions. Call it on the dropship itself as the drop, the radio chatter goes off as they offload, then the rain comes as they touch the ground and prepare to disperse. When you are lucky it will just flat out annihilate them.

Hunchback 4Ps PAY THE BILLS. Theyre dirt cheap to maintain, easy to max out with mediums/smalls and if a guest player or NPC loses some bits, its not as much to lose. With medium or small boats loaded with heatsinks theyre one of the most mangeable, menacing mechs you can get your hands on but the downside is theyre pretty slow. You can make a lot of money and salvage on missions with the 200 ton drop cap, and they fit the bill very nicely.

@@ibone5028 I think, based on my personal experience, the loot is based on what you don't have. When I grabbed the Hero Commando (4 doubles?) that put me at 8-9 doubles total. I stopped seeing them in crates after that. But, I got weapons of various qualities and ammo that I didn't have as much of. Just what I have seen personally.

The quick draw you picked up, but also cost two million credits to fix, the centurion all that was broken was the head, all of the equipment shouldn’t need to be replaced and counts towards the salvage costs. remember to quirk up the black knight (it is a great mech for a non ai pilot) now you only need to get some double heatsinks for it and short burst lasers, i got one a bit earlier than you did but with heat managment and dps increase

Just an fyi, if you run across large chem lasers treat them like treasures. They are awesome but are the most rare item in the game. I'm lvl 13 and have only ever seen 3 large chems ever.

I really love 3 LPL Tier 5 on my BL 6B. Good Alpha, fast reload, good range and cool enough for prolonged fights. Also able to easily headshot. Carried me for a really long time. But my Hero King Crab with 4 Tier 5 Heavy Rifles is just insane. 100+ Alpha damage is just to much for anything. They implemented Heavy Rifles wrong. Rifles are ancient weapons which aren't strong enough for serious Mech Armor Damage. So all Rifles get a -3 on damage. Usually Light Rifles do 3 damage and with that penalty do nothing on mechs. Heavy Rifles do 9 damage and with the penalty 6 damage. Gauss Rifles are 15 Damage. Ingame a Heavy Rifle got more Damage than a Gauss already. So they are incredibly imbalanced. The Damage per ton is insane.

The Quickdraw. It is a fast 80kph Heavy mech.... which is its only real saving grace. I think it is an ok 60 Ton heavy mech but there is better no doubt. Like the grasshopper good for catching and destroying lighter mechs, but on equal footing.. some Medium mechs like the Hunchback and even a Centurian with AC-10 can screw up this mech.

The names come from actual BattleTech lore. PGI are pretty much all Canadian.
