@@bobojo6447 I think that someone recognising a telephone pole or car brand trends is still more fun than anything that is only introduced by the game or the fact that this is shot by a google street car - like the quality of the camera, the follower cars or the tape on the rearview mirror - but I agree that Tom is more in line with what I'd call the spirit of the game.

Tom, as a longtime subscriber to the channel, I'm here because of Geoguessr. And actually, I discovered geoguessr because of this channel. And here's why your geoguessr content is hands down the best compared to the rest of youtube: 1. We can beat you, sometimes. The challenge format is fun, and you aren't so obsessed with the meta so it keeps our "games" competitive. You play the game like a real person would, not a robot. 2. You offer way more personality in your videos than most. 3. You have a great grasp on what maps/formats are best. Keep 'em coming Tom!

I can tell you that in the late 80's myself and a few friends used to get to the top floor of Rackhams via the perimeter stair wells and then get out onto the roof - crazily they never locked the uppermost door. Took a few Wimpy's up there to enjoy in the polluted air 😂😂 Talking of Corporation St Wimpy - you could break through the staff toilet roof into the buildings behind. An absolute maze of unused space, maze of red brick corridors and the pot of gold a boxing gym with ring and posters on the wall. Watching your style of play is so entertaining, especially with your commentary and humor. Playing GeoGuessr in the (IMO) way it was meant to be played is so much better. They don't just memorise meta info, you're just ignorant. Look at any of the videos of zi8gzag playing the maps that have every country in the world and you will see that any guess the pros make is based on much more than meta. Especially in the world cup where many rounds were chosen to have as little meta info as possible.

@@MattFFEMT I'm sorry, but with all my respect, janis is right here. Geoguessr pros do indeed use meta info, but the amount of geographical knowledge those people have is beyond insane. So it is wrong to say "all they do is memorize meta info", there are so many more things coming into the balance than just that.

You know what you should do Tom? Hop on Diverse World or any map like that, give yourself unlimited time, but use an countdown to get your guess, but then explore the area and just give your commentary on what you can see and how you describe the situation around there. Your storytelling, anecdotes, commentary etc. thats why I still love your Geoguessr vids. Its always fun. Keep up my dude!

End of the day, you fill your days with what you enjoy most. But I think we as your viewers enjoy the geoguessr vids because you add so much storytelling and comedy to the game. And the long format and proper guessing is honestly so much more relaxing and interactive than the fast pace reels other players make. But I find that your other videos like geodetective vids and missions do have that same flare and style anyways. So you do you, Tom! Happy to see what you come up with next.

I am here for the relatable content! Never play myself but watching the video I can at least get a country guess in, look for a sign you missed etc. Way more enjoyable than someone telling the spot in three seconds. Those I watch as shorts ;)

I've been playing geoguessr a lot lately and learned most of the metas, and knowing the country in populated cities is way easier now. However, your play style is way more cool and unique, being too competitive in games ruins them a bit. Don't you ever stop playing, it's really cool to see your thought process and all, and it was because of one of your videos that I discovered this game!

Tom -- I love watching you play Geoguessr! Keep putting them out if it makes sense for you financially. I don't care about competitive content that much -- it's much more fun watching you play Geoguessr in the same way I play, without meta and having a good time exploring the world.

We love your Geoguessr vids. You should keep doing them, but with a bit of a twist, like more scavenger hunts and things like that. We just like watching you, Tom. And we'll never tire of your videos! Cheers from Ohio, US.

You're such a legend mate, you were the greatest before the rest, and your videos always bring us back to the beginning days of the geo community. Amazing guesses this game too you always impress with your pinpointing. I would love to see you play An Official World, A Community World, or maybe even A Pinpointable World no move (ps. the map you played today hasn't been updated since 2021 so the new countries aren't included). Take care Tom and cant wait for future vids!

Tom, I will watch these type of videos over and over. Like so many, I got into the game of GeoGuessr from randomly having one of your videos pop up on my feed (Geo detective). These play alongs are highly entertaining. Cheers!

You will forever be my only source of Geoguessr vids, there is even no need for anything new and fresh in that area, at least for me. It is always interesting, enjoyable and charming, the way you do it. I dont need to try anyone else.❤❤

like so many, i got into geoguessr because of you and your videos. i like the competitive scene and i like watching rainbolt et al do their superhuman feats, but i also really enjoy your geoguessr content, you have a marvelous blend of color commentary and knowledge/skill that makes each video fun and exciting.

These Geoguessr videos are breath of fresh air honestly. I would much rather watch this than the pros. I will watch anything you post (I do love the adventures!), but these have an air of nostalgia to them that the other videos don't. Just my two cents, from someone who almost never plays the game outside of these youtube videos.

Just here to repeat what others are saying. We like your geoguesser videos because they're relatable, fun, and interesting. The pros are great at what they do but they're so tapped into the meta that they get monotonous pretty quick. Thanks for all your fun videos!

I like the longer time limits with moving. It’s fun to watch you puzzle it out rather than someone who has memorized all of the meta and just instantly clicks.

I started watching in 2020 for the geoguessr content but have fallen in love with everything else you do. I wouldn’t mind seeing you go for the perfect score nmpz or the 5 second nmpz. Don’t underestimate how your audience would enjoy geoguessr content even though there’s others out there that are better. We’re here because we love you and your style!

The reason I love your Geoguessr vids over the other creators is because of your commentary and non-meta ways of finding your location. You could maybe try more weird, quirky and fun maps where you don't have to do well but surprisingly good guesses will be plenty, and your witty humor will shine in the midst of the randomness that the custom maps will bring.

Just as a note, the video where you were placed at a monumental iconic statue/ building but are looking the opposite way pops into mind. Quite the memorable concept and is just one of the reasons im still sticking around. you got me into geoguesser in the first place. if you feel as though you are falling behind or cant compete, i say it is those people who cant compete with you !

Last round and I shouted out “he’s round the back of Rackhams”! I then had to explain what that means to my Cockney hubby. Love watching you Tom. You might not be the fastest or the closest but you are the most personable. Keep doing what you are doing my friend, we love it. PS I always used to get a static shock in Rackhams 😖

Don't have to keep up with the pros to enjoy the game and make good goeguessr content. Would love to see you do more collabs with geoguessr creators and maybe do something with geoguessr itself (i.e.) guest host for tournaments, etc. You are an absolute legend for those of us playing geoguessr in the early days.
