Today we start drenching the ewes that are due to lamb at the end of July and into August. This drench will kill any worms that they have and keeps the ewe healthy in the leadup to lambing!

Definitely get into doing FEC tests. Could save you thousands of bucks and lead to better natural sheep resistance and make your drenches stay effective for longer. I did one this morning. A teaspoon of fresh dung from a dozen ewes into a snap lock bag and put in the fridge until you can get them to the tester or into the post. Quite a few times I’ve been surprised that the sheep didn’t need drenching when I might have otherwise done it.

I always enjoy your videos. I live in north Florida and we are not ranchers, but find all farming videos enjoyable. Your dogs are amazing and do a wonderful job working the sheep. The drone shots are cool, and remind us of our visit to your country several years ago. The area we live in north Florida the farmers and ranchers grow peanuts, cotton, pecans, corn, and raise cattle. The area is heavily forested and produces a lot of pine trees for lumber and pulp for paper production. take care..

Another great video thanks.Have you got anyone helping you, that's a hard days work for just you. Years ago we had five or six blokes in the yard. Then drove them out on horse back. Oh for the old days. But I do like the idea of the electric drench gun. 🤠🇦🇺

Well I think you can count the dogs as a helping hand!😄 yes those were the good old days, now I just hope on the motorbike and press the button to start it haha. I have only ever rode a horse once. Thanks for the comment again Michael.

Good video. Enjoy the open gates while your young. When your knees get old you have to drench with a closed gate so they don’t beat you!!
