To whatever extent sinking low being humble we behave, to that extent brings goodness. The root of the evil is our raising ego. The root of all good is our subsiding. More inwardly subside and live our life accordingly to that extent there is goodness. If we subside within our outward behaviour will reflect that so automatically we will be doing good actions so we don't have to worry about doing good actions. If one is continuously restraining subdue or curb the mind or prevent our mind rising then wherever one may be, let one be. ALL THAT ONE GIVES TO OTHERS, ONE IS GIVING ONLY TO ONESELF. 🙏🙇♀️🙇♂️🙏

Thank you for this answer covering many points.🙏Though it is said Bhagavan 'shines in our hearts or centre' and is not the body, still his example is a very strong teacher.

Bhagavan, thank you for showing me the truth, for waking me up, for destroying my ignorance, and for giving me peace. I have searched my whole life for you. Now, all I have to do is remember I-Am.

Don't get lost in life and how someone lives his or her life. This is all outward movements of the mind. How you live your life comes with intuition. You won't need to think. You follow his teachings. Have your attention on Self and whatever happens with the body will go automatically. If you think how to react or how to live is just coming from the mind. When your attention is on Self, how can you also give attention to the life of the body. It all goes as predestined. Just be quiet. And all will happen as it needs to be.

We cannot change the characters of others - how true. However, we can help others. For example, we can be compassionate towards those who are desperate, or we can donate some money for kids in Africa. In order to do such acts, we have to turn outwards, i.e. rise as ego.

“ what is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.” Edmund Burke We are not living in Ramanas consciousness. As lord Krishna told Arjuna on the battlefield. “ stop this paltry faint heartedness, “. He told him to remain detached but do his duty and fight. Our duty right now is to transcend and on the outward stroke, do your duty. If you are an American Vote. There is a battle of good and evil taking place and we can do one thing. Vote blue.

Unless a person firmly adheres to the dictum ‘That which deserves to be reformed is my own mind,’ by turning Selfwards and correcting himself, his mind will get defiled more and more by paying attention exclusively to the defects of others. (Guru Vachaka Kovai, verse 788)

@@pumpkini586 since no one reading these comments is detached we can certainly do both at once- that is, attempting to turn inward as much as possible while acting morally

the election was a massive victory for adharma, and as I believe Lord Krsna is Truth perhaps He will again be taking human form as Avatara

Michael is living a life of a sanyasi in his final years of life, his advice is not for the majority of people on the spiritual path.

Meditate, try your best to follow the teachings of Ramana or your guru, but you have to act in the world

@radhikaschwartz3499: You wrote: 'Michael is living a life of sanyasi' and 'his advice is not for the majority of people on the spiritual path'. Thank you for your opinion. But it is Bhagavan who said this path is exceedingly easy for all, Michael is just repeating and explaining what Bhagavan says, for example in Āṉma-Viddai verse 4: கன்மா திகட்டவிழ சென்மா திநட்டமெழ வெம்மார்க் கமதனினு மிம்மார்க் கமிக்கெளிது சொன்மா னததனுவின் கன்மா திசிறிதின்றிச் சும்மா வமர்ந்திருக்க வம்மா வகத்திலான்ம - சோதியே; நிதானு பூதியே; இராது பீதியே; இன்பவம் போதியே. (ஐயே) kaṉmā dikaṭṭaviṙa jeṉmā dinaṭṭameṙa vemmārg gamadaṉiṉu mimmārg gamikkeḷidu soṉmā ṉadadaṉuviṉ kaṉmā disiṟidiṉḏṟic cummā vamarndirukka vammā vahattilāṉma - jyōtiyē; nitāṉu bhūtiyē; irādu bhītiyē; iṉbavam bhōdhiyē. (aiyē) English translation: For the bonds beginning with action to be untied, to rise from the devastation beginning with birth, more than whatever path, this path is what is exceedingly easy. When one just is, resting without the least action of mind, speech or body, ah, in the heart the light of oneself alone. The eternal experience. Fear does not exist. The ocean of bliss alone. (Ah, extremely easy, ...) Explanatory paraphrase: For the bonds beginning with karma [that is, the bonds of action and of all that results from it] to be untied, and to rise [or be resurrected] from the devastation beginning with birth [that is, to transcend and become free from the miseries of embodied existence, which begins with birth and ends with death], more than whatever [other] path, this path [of ātma-vicāra] is what is exceedingly easy. When one just is, resting [calmly as pure awareness] without the least karma [action] of mind, speech or body, ah, in [one’s] heart the light of oneself alone [will shine forth clearly as ‘I am I’]. [Having thereby drowned and lost oneself (namely ego) forever in this perfectly peaceful and infinitely clear state of pure awareness, it will be clear that this is one’s] eternal experience. Fear does not [or will not] exist. The ocean of [infinite] bliss alone [will remain]. ([Therefore] ah, extremely easy, ātma-vidyā, ah, extremely easy!)
