Praise God for Rosaria's clarity. And for everyone else who had a hand in this talk. Singleness, though having much potential for good, is not normative for most men and women. Satan loves to see procreation die and humans go extinct. If we are staying out of marriage due to selfishness (Php 2:3-4), we are not walking in step with the Spirit.

It was discouraging to hear Rosaria’s take on singleness . To think that God has no plans for singleness is to be really blinkered in your understanding of the vastness of God’s love for His children, married or not. And it’s always single women whom people find didn’t try hard enough, never the men. Cuz Paul was single. What would one have to say about his life? If there’s godly marriage, there’s godly singleness too. Thankfully God in His mercy hasn’t put His children into any such boxes. Kevin De Young did say we worship a man who was single but I am afraid that wasn’t enough. 😞

I understand that I was thinking the same thing. I appreciate Garretts perspective. I think Rosaria's take took a little away from what he was saying but he did a good job of explaining it. Just because Rosaria hasnt experience it personally does not mean that it does not exist. Like you said, God is not to be put into the box of our limited perspectives.

I'm single and am able to do some things married people can't do. I feel God's plan was not for me to remarry.😅
