The before shots are enough to make a person cry! It’s not completely destroyed, but seeing a family heirloom in such rough shape just breaks my heart. The transformation of this piece is amazing. I had a few doubts about the black finish, but the second you started to apply it I got excited about how much the brass would pop with the black background. Brass and black is such a beautiful, classic contrast. It’s so luxurious with the piano finish on the top. I love that pink felt! I’m not overly feminine, but I love hot pink. It’s such a beautiful contrast with the black finish, and the whole piece looks even more luxurious with everything cleaned up. I like the way you kept the original wood on the sides of the drawer because it really shows off that beautiful wood.

I spent the first almost 4 years of my life in a Japanese concentration camp in China. We eventually arrived back in England to severe rationing of foodstuffs and a Canadian lady from the Salvation Army adopted our family and kept us fed with regular food parcels. You look exactly how I remember her photo, and i think of her kindness every time I watch your video expertise. Im 82 now, so she must be in heaven by now but her kind memory lingers on.

When it was down to the raw wood, I imagined a natural or darker walnut stain. Didn't think of black, but as soon as you said it, I was in! Beautiful work, stunning outcome! And it wil fit in any decor.
