Nice to see good rotor management spininng the blades on bumpy strips isnt always done.

Apart from the gyro itself I really love the wide, open spaces with lonely trees among the fields. And the sunny weather as well. Australia is beautiful.

Great vid, thxs for sharing. I’m a retired Military helo pilot...loved rotary-wing flying, but now that I’m pushing 62 yrs, i enjoy the laid back style of a nice king air. This is my second KZbin gyrocopter vid today (currently on rotation overseas)...think I’m in love...must have one. Awesome stuff, again, thanks for posting.

Lovely video - great people doing normal things - in brilliant machines! Haven't had chance to fly a gyro yet, but I love them!

Enjoyed your show on gyro planes . I may be wrong but have heard they are not as safe as fixed wing. Maybe you explain t why this is so or not so. They look great to me.

Should never taxi without rotor turning, and should spin rotors up before entering runway. That way you don’t hold up flying traffic, a good instructor will teach you these things.
@yellownickyellow3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with you Wiz and yes I do teach this to my students. However at the airfield we fly at we do not start spinning up rotors until we are clear of, and away from start up areas and are either entering or entering and backtracking one of the runways . We do this for safety as there are other people also getting into their aircraft . It all works well with no hold ups 👍🚁

Does this gyro have a direct rotor drive to allow no roll take off?

This model doesn't, no.

Where is the best place to learn to fly, How many hours also, from a person starting from scratch? Seems to take many more hours in u.k ( In many cases double the hours ) , so I was wondering to go abroad to learn.
@WillOstrick3 жыл бұрын
Hi Beagle, not a easy question to answer. I suppose the first point you need to look at is where abouts you want to fly and if it is privately or commercialy. Since a big part of learning to fly is actually learning to navigate that countrys airspace and understand their rules. The next thing to look at would be, what is involved in transferring your licence to the country that you intend to fly in. As this is something that changes place to place and can cost alot of money and time. I do say all this of course as a Australian Pilot, who is based out of the most isolated major city in the world... So just some points to think about, hope that helps :)

It seems all you gyro pilots don't pre rotate until you're on the runway threshold. Is there any reason you can't pre rotate while taxiing? In places I've flown, it seems an aircraft taking that much time on the runway before launch could cause an inconvenience to other pilots.
@cheekibreeki95212 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure he said in reply to another comment here they don't do it because of safety, in those smaller airfields you have a lot of people getting in and out of their aircraft and people/animals around in close proximity to each other. So they only start spinning when entering the runway. It might be a rule of the airport or an Australian aviation rule or something like that. I guess every airport functions slightly differently and has some different rules like this.
@pittshopesp306410 ай бұрын
He did because was alone big space, to avoid in some bump the possibility touching the ground! It’s correct to do it only on the Rwy.. but.. you may do it if completely alone.. you must be British I believe 😂

@@atomicwedgie8176 I cant really speak for will here but he can't really please everyone. I'm sure if he had just had cameras facing out people would complain and want to see more of the cockpit. as for being able to hear his conversation, it has nothing to do with ego? Many people me included appreciate the effort creators go to include cockpit audio and being able to hear the communications between pilots and atc.
