I’ve been doing this for years. I do more detailing but basically the same. I have small shoulders and have to do this to almost every top or nightgown I buy. Works great!

@@almaslakhani6693 to bad clothes makers cannot cut them right. Almost everyone I know has to alter the neckline. I am short so I have to hem everything also, sleeves and trousers. So glad we are in the same boat. Lol ❤️♥️

You change the fit of the shirt when you do this. If it's too big, you'll probably be okay, but if it fits well before alteration, it might be too tight afterward. Pin the alteration and then try the shirt on to make sure it looks and feels okay before you sew the new seam.

I was thinking that - it might be tighter under the arms if it wasn't baggy to start with. I might try it on an oversized top that has too large a neckline first.

I have 2 shirts that I wasn’t wearing much because I didn’t like the wide collar. Such a simple fix, but I didn’t think of it! Wearing both shirts much more now! Thanks so much!

OMGosh, I just stumbled on your video. This is a great solution! I have several boatneck tops that I really love, but the necklines are way too big. I’m definitely gonna try this tip, but will try on the top before making any cuts! Thanks! 😊

I upsize cause i like looser fit. Necklines become proportionately larger for no reason.

Good grief. Who knew the fix could be so easy? I have to watch again to see how to determine how far down to stitch though. With just music and no voiceover, I missed it. EDIT: I watched again. Looks like it's 3 cm down from shoulder seam, no matter what.

Oh heck no! That is going to change your shoulder depth as well as your neckline. If you have bigger shoulders, you won't be able to fit into that garment. Bad idea!

Не получится. Не совпадут горловина спинки и горловина переда. Даже в ролике это видно: когда она прочерчивает линию в 3 см. по линейке, видно, насколько перед со спинкой не состыковываются.

@deborahmarlin2421 I rewatched to understand it. Mark 3 cm down from shoulder seam right at the binding. Chalk across to the shoulder seam.

@deborahmarin2421 buy a tape measure with inches on one side and centameter on the other side, 3cm is approximately 1 1/4 inches. Then follow directions given in the other reply.. be sure the dart is taken in on the wrong side of sweater.
