It's funny that the feeling of wanting to live life and being happy never goes away. I'm 29 and have those same feelings and thoughts. I've spent the past 4 years working and grinding with little play. But like you said it does set you up for a better future. And everything can't always be about happiness and fun all the time. I will tell you from experience, you don't have to have all the answers right now. I say enjoy your 20's (until you're 24) then worry about stability. Especially since most people on the internet lie about how great their lives are. You're probably in better a position than most. Love your content, especially the vlogs and these chit-chat GRWM, keep them going as long as they satisfy you. 🤎

What a mood. I freaking despise having to work just to barely live 😒. I'm 24 and literally have no passion yet no time to find things I even want to do. Hopefully once I finish this masters, I'd find something I enjoy enough for the next few years

As an artist who's been working her dream job, I can say that of course I'm passionate and grateful but that doesn't mean I don't have days where I'm too tired to work or I don't feel very inspired. I've learned that in any career you choose, if its a job then it will feel like a job at time no matter what. I realized I can't use just my career to bring me joy/happiness, it can be a mix of things like my hobbies, family/friend time, maybe its working out. I can see how much effort you put into your videos and you're so good at it too, I hope you don't burn yourself out living the double life! Even if its just one video a month that makes you happy, whatever your balance is. That being said, we're only in our twenties and everyone's path is different, easier to focus on day to day and stay present than worry about your future, because most of the time your future is out of your control anyway (or at least that's what I tell myself)
@megstone9997 Жыл бұрын
I think the struggle is we’ve been told that we are supposed to have reached a goal or a result and the happiness from that will last forever. Like it’s obviously ok to not have a good time. I feel like only focusing on the goal ruins the whole path to get there. The goal is important for sure, but if you can’t be at peace with what’s happening now, that will affect how you are in the future. Idk take me with a grain of salt, but I’ve been thinking about that too since I’m changing jobs because I hated my last job. 😅

This is such a relevant conversation honestly. The fact that working in social media is so tempting but also by nature so fleeting, and maybe it’s fulfilling now but who’s to say it will remain that way? I’m 24 and about to finish my masters in mental health counseling, and I do enjoy it now but I’m afraid I’ll stop enjoying it, but then what do I do then? Like student loans are way too much and school is too frustrating to go through it again, but what if getting another degree is the only way to get another good job? And the way this economy is heading I feel like no amount of money is ever going to be enough, but then if so why keep trying for a the high paying jobs 😫😫 ugh being young kinda sucks ngl
@brittanyngia Жыл бұрын
yes! i was thinking about how the going the traditional route isn’t panning out the way it was “supposed” to in today’s economy and society. and that’s partly why i’m wondering if the social media way is better in the long run. but girl going back to school?! if only education wasn’t such a business nowadays

I can’t stand school so I feel you, it’s so much effort to create balance. So I’ve been having to really evaluate how much can I take and sacrifice until I’m letting life pass me by. Unfortunately life isn’t always good but I’m sticking anything out if there’s someway to accommodate my needs. With the way the world is, I’m not suffering even for the shortest amount of time because I shouldn’t have to anyways, but if no one is going to create the environment for me, then I’ll have to do it myself

It's hard to balance, I feel like its either you have fun in your 20s and work in your 30, or the other way. You can try to balance both but, but! the best thing is for you to decide how can you have happy moments in your life routine. what i realise is when you are on your 20s you decided something for yourself and try to stick to it even if its not giving you happiness or if its giving you total hapiness but wont be pratical for the futur, and when your 30s comes you (kind of )finally know how you want your life to really lookalike so you can be happy...usually, hopefully. Im in my 30s 😅 and if I look at my friends and I, some choose fun during their 20s, some choose work and career....but both type are trying to figured out that balance now. just to say its a constant search I feel like. but to me balance is better....to have done and experience the fun part of it lol, I wish I balance it a bit..(still no regrets)... but having some fun and push your career can be possible ... if you dont fall into the mold of fun-fun or career-career... because both have a restreint to it.
@yowassupitsjenny4689 Жыл бұрын
I think the whole adulting thing is about balance and if the sh!t that makes you unhappy don't balance out the things that make you happy that's where you gotta adjust n make changes it's all up to you to decide if the sacrifices justify your end goal

I'm only 19 and struggling with the idea of what to do with my life. My parents want me ton work hard now and get a better life later, but I know I'm not going to enjoy life any more than I enjoy it now, and it's not very much LOL- But I'd definitely watch you when you in your 40s, will definitely be an adventure to see how you grow
@brittanyngia Жыл бұрын
i feel like my parents had to instill that kind of thinking for me to not be completely lazy and not contribute to society🫣 as i’ve gotten older i’ve been trying to undo that belief a little just so we can enjoy life as we go through it and i will say i feel like i was just 19 even though so much has happened since. don’t let it pass you by !
@lybasunni8308 Жыл бұрын
@@brittanyngia my parents have done the same, in order to not make me lazy for life i should always be working hard. but at the same time, i drifted from thinking about myself and what i enjoy. the difficulties of trying to balance life out 😭

I agree with what you said, to top that, at least in the U.S you work from 9 to 5, on the rest of the world is 9 to 6 or even 9 to 7 (bc 1 hour lunch is not optional lol). I think working is SHIT, and not normal, like are we really supposed to not have a life and enjoy 98% of our lives during nighttime after work? Is this how the next 45 years are supposed to go by? Not normal for me bruh
@victoriahiromi2256 Жыл бұрын
You still have a lot of time to figure out everything in terms of work-life balance, and I think people experience career changes all the time nowadays. If you continue with the dental route, maybe you can put content creating on the back-burner for a bit and release stuff less regularly... Also somehow you also strike me as a person who'd be good at starting a business or brand😎 Either way it seems like you've set up your cards right for now regardless of the decisions you need to make soon. Your honesty makes you a boss b! I like your chit-chat videos
