Well done! 👍😊👍🎆 Thank you so much for sharing your Camino. Thank you for putting in the maps, lay-bys, fantastic views, Camino passport stamps, buildings, different people's, different gear and most of all this new, to Me, way to traverse El Camino. I, of course, only knew of the Camino because of Emilo Estavez and Martin Sheen. "The Way" It honestly helped guide Me so I would dearly love to get my shell and do pilgrimage, perhaps continuing on to the sea ⛵. Idk. But Thank you♥️

So nice. I am wondering if the albergues were all open and if you had to call or reserve before due to Corona??
@colesushi2 жыл бұрын
Aubergues are now mostly open and looking forward to your custom I think. There is much debate as to whether you should book or not. I always avoid peak season and go in spring or Autumn so never really felt the need to book though if you want to stay in a particular place it may be worth booking the day before or morning of the day you want to stay. I found it easiest to book on booking.com

I've walked the Portugués (from Porto - 240 km) and the Francés (from León - 320 km). Primitivo looks rougher... it may be a nice call for walking and praying. Thanks, greetings from Brazil... Ultreia

@@ColinProsser1234 Yes I have a travel guitar. But I had slight of change of plans, and will go to Leon to walk the French Camino. Because I am on a special diet (no gluten, dairy-free, no processed food), so I am not sure I can follow the diet on this route specially that it will be off-season. It is a shame, but I do not want to risk it.

Can I walk to the albergues and get a bed on the day or do I need to book a bed several days/months in advance?
@colesushi Жыл бұрын
I prefer to decide which allbergue I'd like to stay at then call in the morning to see if they have space. However, about 70% of the time I'll just arrive somewhere and get a place without having booked. This was only tricky once on my trip where the town was booked out because of a motorbike gathering. Finding somewhere else to stay still wasn't hard though. Buen Camino!

Thank you! I'm going April 2024. Can you tell us how much did it cost you? Whenever I get a quote it comes back with around £1,600, is this correct?
@colesushi11 ай бұрын
£1600 sounds like a lot but maybe that's using a company to arrange everything for you? I did it on the cheap, and organised everything myself.... So, per day, roughly: Private Alberge (hostel) bed in dormitory - eur15 Breakfast (toast plus coffee) - eur3 Mid-morning coffee - 1.20 lunch from supermarket (bread, cheese etc.) eur 5 Pre dinner beers eur 4 dinner (2 courses, including wine, bread etc.) - eur15 So that makes about eur 43 per day. Say 14 days (including a rest day?) that makes about eur 600 (about £510). Obviously you'll need to add transport to and from Spain.... Hope that helps
@katarzynabrozik631711 ай бұрын
Thank you! That’s really helpful! Yeah it’s through the company that organise it BUT I can’t get any breakdown from them… they keep saying I’ll have a nice room with a privet bathroom. It’s not my priority though. It will be my first Camino and first trip on my own. Did you book your hostels in advance? As I heard some are on a first come first serve basis, I’m worried I’ll end up on the streets 😅
@colesushi10 ай бұрын
@@katarzynabrozik6317 you won't end up on the streets. Relatively few people use companies to manage their camino for them. It's really easy to do it yourself and you'll save loads of money. I'd recommend (for your piece of mind) just booking your first few nights then, once you get the lay of the land, and hear how other pilgrims do it, you'll be up and running in no time. I only ever book if there's a particuarly nice albergue that I want to stay at. Good luck!

So much guitar music squeaks for me, on the Camino Primitivo it would be more appropriate to put the sound of an Asturian or Galician bagpipe. The most beautiful stage of the primitive Way is "La ruta de Los Hospitales" between Borres and Berducedo, very well described by you.
@colesushi Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I agree with you about the music and I searched hard for Asturian/ Galician music (I especially like the bagpipes) but I couldn't find anything that worked. Can you recommend any artists or groups?

It was magical and wonderful to walk, it was 5:45 am and the sun began to rise on the horizon and the cold mountain wind sheltered me with its caresses, making me cry because of so much peace I felt, the entire universe was there, next to me , I could feel the divine presence and all my regrets and fears disappeared, making me take another attitude towards life that I maintain to this day, THANKS TO THE HOSPITALS ROUTE FOR CHANGING MY LIFE❤️
