I've been stuck on something for many years which this video just cleared up. I remembered a church near my grandmother's house in the Bronx, but didn't remember where it was, or where she lived. This is from the late 1950's and there's nobody left alive to ask. That was it on E. 187 Street. Thank you so much. I want to go by there soon to see for myself.

@Joelikesmoviesnstuff
@Joelikesmoviesnstuff 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Adam G! I'm glad you liked this video... To answer your question: I went to all of THESE locations to shoot this video in one day (just a few hours, actually). That was no problem. But in your case, you want to see all the locations from the movie (not just the ones seen in this video) and skip the area in the Bronx which the movie was based on? Is that correct? Well, I think that should be doable. I just suggest you look at a map and plan the day out in advance. Look at where all the locations are, and figure out which order it makes the most sense to go in from one to another... Then again, will you have a car? Or will you be depending on New York City's Public Transportation? That could make the difference in how doable this is... Anyway, I can tell you the City Island scene really was shot in City Island (of the Bronx)... Sonny's house is 3034 35th Street, Astoria, NY (which is just down the street from the C's house and the bar)... The school is 4810 31st Avenue, Astoria, NY... The scenes of Jane's neighborhood were shoot in Brooklyn at the corner of Gravesend Neck Road & East 15th Street... . The racetrack was shot on location at Aqueduct Racetrack (which is in South Ozone Park, Queens)... I think all the other locations are told in this video. Or am I forgetting any?

Though filmed in Queens, many Arthur Avenue locals were used in the film. I'm not sure who is still living as this was a long time ago, but if you are really interested in A Bronx Tale casting, local Arthur Avenue people in the film, places of note and things of this manner from the film, locate Marco Greco. I wasn't talking about the fight inside the bar. I was talking about the fight outdoors in front of the social club - when Calogero helped the boy who turned out to be Jane's brother.

I remember the scene you're talking about in the movie... All I was trying to say in this video was: According to the movie, in the 1960s this was a neighborhood which black people should not have felt safe passing through. I don't know how true or untrue that was of the 1960s. However, when I was there in 2019, I saw people of all different ethnicities walking through, and nothing I saw suggested there was any problem for any of them.

@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff According to my ex boyfriend who grew up in Bensonhurt, Brooklyn, the Hell's Angels scene really happened in Bensonhurst. The movie was semi autobiographical, but I think Chazz added a lot of other Italian experiences to the movie.

First of all noone needs to tell anyone their business. They can tell what they want truth or lie. And as for the Addeos? They took u for a dope. U said it urself.. the name of the bakery was shown in the movie. Lesson here.. no true Italian tells their business. Bob and Chazz the same.”Tanuh pigliatuh peh fessuh”!!! Show this to a napoletan .. they’ll translate for u. 🙄
