As I'm following this game and making the translation to french players, I can say that A Gunslinger's Paradise is a damn' good game! (and very fun to translate, anyway) From all my experience with many existing "western" games, I really think that this game is fun, tense and very playable. The chips system to win initiative and cards to give some boost give more tense during the game, and that's how the western feels! So, a lot of scenarios, a lot of characters lists (and more to come on godeyesgames site), a very cool and fun campaign system to create your own town and old far west (yes, you can be the mayor or the sheriff of the town) and Some rules would probably deserve a little more detail, but the atmosphere throughout the book really proves that the author is a true American cowboy! (and who else than an American finally to make a game on the far west!) If I had to make a single criticism, it would be on the size of the typo used, which could be smaller (and make the book thinner as a result). But these typos is in my opinion a western feel, especially when I was busy with the layout for the French version. The lists are really fun and really present the cowboy bands as they should have been presented in previous games. You get the western feel, the taste of the western and the atmosphere of the western. Only some weapon names have been changed to not give credits to real weapon producers ^_^ Yes, tenderfoot, this game is damn good.

Interesting in that their game has many similarities to the game I created back in 2003. Except, mine is better & more complete. Well it should be, I've been working on my game for the past 20 years. Adding new ideas, enhancing rules \ character creation agenda, new scenarios, and the overall layout of my book(s). Their campaign is very close to what I created. I used property cards and I have 80+ scenarios that are used (a number are used) during the campaign. If I did not have my game, I would purchase this one. The big issue with so many skirmish games is the lack of a true campaign. Linking a handful of scenarios together with no carry over effects is not a campaign. It's just one big scenario with a number of chapters. There has to be a goal that your side is trying to achieve. Wiping out your opponent gets boring very fast. For a one off scenario, its fine, but not for a campaign that is played over a number of weeks. And what good is a dead character when telling a story (aka campaign). You want the character to get his butt whipped from time to time or survive a harrowing experience. Or having a vendetta against another person for one reason or another.
