Wow!... - What a show of interpretation and great instrumental transposition of one of the most fascinating songs by the group a-ha. I really enjoyed this phenomenal instrumental presentation, purely the magic of the music running through these strings through the plucking and melodic harmony of his incredible style, my noble friend, a musician of great grandeur, beautiful! ✨🌟💙🎧👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

👍41 As a A-ha fan, I will watch all your A-ha videos. This video really showcases how lyrical A-ha's melodies are. I love their first album as it was the music I listened to daily on my walkman on my way to school. The sounds seemed so mysterious and made me interested in synths, drum machines and music. I later worked in a music store which was paradise as I could try all the expensive gear. I lost my interest in modern gear but still love 80s equipment. I had my own small home studio which was quite unusual in the 80s. Then I became interested in classical music but during my middle life crisis, listening to A-ha makes me feel young again.

As a boy used to have a Kawai K1 II synth, and Atari 1040 ST with Cubase sequencer. I stopped using it when I started studying music full time, but is kind of back at it now, 20 years later. My plan is, by the way, to complete covers of all the songs from "Hunting High and Low" - next one is "Blue Sky"
@chrismossy97746 ай бұрын
@@hbilsbakCello Ah, yes! The Kawai K1 was the poor man's Roland D50! Then came the Korg M1. At that time samplers were the hot thing but the D50 is more fun cause it also has a synth engine. Samplers couldn't really change the sound much and sounded a bit sterile and static but still very impressive! The first sampler I saw was the toyish Casio Sk1 and I couldn't believe it. It was like magic. Though I later had a professional Roland W30, I still want to but the Casio for nostalgic reasons. Then I sold everything and now use a pocket studio -YamahaQY10 from the late 80s. But even as a teenager who like tech, I never liked the idea of using computers as the screen distracted from the music and looked like a game at that time.

@@chrismossy9774 by the way, I had the pleasure to contribute along with my orchestra on all the tracks on a-ha’s latest album “True North” it was a surreal weekend recording and filming 🤩

@@hbilsbakCello Wow! Absolutely fantastic! Was it because you were already playing in an orchestra that was hired or because they already knew you liked A-ha and already had a reputation and were handpicked or did you apply? Did you talk to the A-ha members? I'm too old now to idolize people and I'm not interested in their private lives but Iove to learn about how their songs came about, the creative process, and so on. I didn't read their book or watch the A-ha movie yet (in the trailer they just complain and seemed grumpy). There are many things about their lyrics and other other things that I wounder about but will never know, I guess (for example, who is moaning and exhaling on "I've been losing you", what is the radio clip heard in "I dream my self alive" and Morten often whispers things that are hard to pick up). I wish they could make a website where people can ask these things. I think "Soft rains of April" would be perfect for the cello! I can already hear it played in my head! There is a beautiful (harp)solo and then when the crescendo comes "Well, they gave me your years..."using glissando and vibrato to phrase the melody would make it sound so intense and emotional! Hope you will try it some day!
