It was made in a program called FamiTracker. It lets the user compose music using original Famicom/NES music, and can allow the user to make use of the various audio expansions for the Famicom. In this case, the Sunsoft5B from the game "Gimmick!".

This remix uses the extra audio chip called the 5B in Gimmick, which provides 3 square channels in addition to the 2 pulse channels, triangle, noise, and DPCM (sample) channels in the NES's 2A03. The SNES's soundchip has 8 PCM (sample) channels. While this music can be recreated on the SNES's soundchip using samples almost perfectly, the 5B and 2A03 cannot recreate SNES music as they do not have 8 PCM (sample) channels, it only has one PCM channel, and it is very limited.
