👍129 When I was young I didn't know that it was the diminished 7th chord that explained why the opening sounded so dramatic. As always, this version is wonderful as well and much is due to the preserved 80s drum sound and awesome performance on the strings PS: the tambourine is very important to this song! I covered this song and analyzed all the parts and before that I had never noticed how important the tambourine and backing vocals are. Even though I heard the song 100s of times, I had never thought of the backing vocals before.

@@hbilsbakCello this gave me goosebumps... or Frisson as it's also called. I love the cello - it can create so many musical atmospheres - drama, suspense, love, calm, healing, soothing, haunting. Thank you, I will subscribe 👍

@@sharonmiddleton1111 very glad to hear you enjoyed it! It's the cellist that creates the atmospheres by the way 😉 More a-ha on the way 👍 If you listen to a-has most recent album "True North" you can also hear me there, with my orchestra "Arctic Philharmonic", we contribute on every track 😁

@@hbilsbakCello loved string covers of stuff, one of my favorite albums of Bowie songs isn't even a Bowie album, a album by the 5 string quartet.
