I bought this game a few months back after seeing gameplay of it on KZbin, but my computer was too shit to run it at the time, but after waiting patiently, and saving up money, i was able to buy a computer that ran it properly. I must say, the game was beautiful. It wasn't perfect, no game is, but everything in the game from the graphics, to the stories, to the worlds, were absolutely stunning. I could actually _feel_ the love and passion that went into the game. I played until i got 40 time pieces, then skipped the credits and ending because i knew there was more. The ending didn't impact me as much because i knew there were more time pieces to be found. But after gathering up all of the time pieces from the Arctic Cruise and Nyakuza Metro, and clearing all of the time rifts, i went back and did Times End again, and that time, i sat through the credits and when the "The End" Screen showed, it actually bought a tear to my eye, not because the ending was really happy, but because i was really sad that i fully finished the game, and there was nothing left to be found. No more time pieces to collect, no more challenges to complete. And that's my only real complaint about the game. It's so great and beautiful, but it's so short. At least to me. After i fully finished the game, i didn't feel completed, i was yearning for more. I wanted to see more of Hat Kid. And i was so bummed to see that the adventure was over. I wish i had a time piece so i could go back in time and experience playing A Hat in Time all over again. When i played A Hat in Time, i truly felt like i was in the game with Hat Kid. Gears For Breakfast deserved every penny from my steam wallet for this game. And if they ever choose to make a sequel to this amazing game, i would buy it in a heartbeat as long as it meant seeing more of Hat Kid and experiencing more of her wacky adventures. I know this quote is overused, but i feel is definitely applies the most to the ending of A Hat In Time. Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. ~ Dr Seuss. Except, i'm both crying and smiling. And i wish it "happened" again.

(WARNING! SPOILERS FOR A HAT IN TIME AND ALSO A VERY LONG ESSAY.) This game was ten times better than any Mario or Sonic game out there. Not only did it exceed my expectations the first time I played, it was genuinely the first time I ever paid attention to detail OR story in a videogame. There have been other cases of this for me, but this game was so great to the point where I was surprised at small things like the crows on the conductor's train ALL having voices. Or the C.A.W Agents just randomly showing up for one level, and then showing up everywhere else around the game. The creepy but lovable badge seller, the Snatcher, DJ grooves, the mafia (saying that makes me feel weird), the Conductor, all of them hold a special place in my heart and so does this game. Despite it all being virtual, this game was the eye-opening experience I needed from a video game I hadn't gotten for a long while. I found things like diving into hat kid's giant pile of pillows and finding her diary so fun. When I first got the game and knew nothing, finding every little detail was so much fun. The DLC was way better than I could've imagined. Even though the DLC was short, everything was so detailed. Rather it be a cat on their phone rating a food shop on the internet, or a giant cruise ship with little cute seals working on it. Nothing on this game didn't make me smile. Even some of the more arguably evil characters like the snatcher eventually warm up to you at the end. They even cling onto your ship at the end of the game. I had no words when I finished this game, it was an experience I'd never forget. I was very sad that the game ended. If only it never did..... And it doesn't. The game constantly has mod support. This game has striking resemblance to Mario odyssey, right? Mods let you have cappy! Mods let you become Dio and stop time! Heck, even some of the mods out there let you play as Peter Griffin from family guy for pete's sake. This game may be old, but it will never die. It may loose popularity, but it will still live and go on. This game was ahead of its time. Nothing will ever stand up to the beautiful masterpiece of art this game is. Everyone says this game is good, but they never actually look into why. This game has an aura of charm no other game does. I still enjoyed odyssey, but it was nowhere near as fun and replayable as this game. The replayability wasn't as simple as finding every time piece, or getting all the relics and artifacts, colors or hat reskins. It was more than that. You could literally boot up the game after 100% completion, go to mafia town and just walk around AND STILL HAVE FUN. I may be a bit biased to this game, but it's a special masterpiece worthy of being locked up inside the world's most secure vault. It deserved way more recognition than it got. It was left in the shadow of mario, despite being released before. Why am I saying this, you ask? Because I wish to spread the word. The word of how this game is a masterpiece. This song is just one example of this crazy shit that goes on in this game. There is no limit to what you can do. Wanna have the wing cap from sm64? Sure! Wanna play as a frog chair from animal crossing? Of course you can! The creative genius of this game never fails to surprise me, no matter how much I play this game. I'd never get burned out, despite how small of a game this is. Less quantity, more quality. I felt nostalgic for a game I had just played. I will never be able to play this game for the first time again, but that's okay. This game shaped me. This was really the only game that made me truly happy. Get out there you peck-necks, and do what's right.

This game broke me. People will DIE for you, that's not a common thing. And I dont mean like one character dies and that's it. Nearly everyone dies, the mafia, the conductor and peck neck DJ grooves. That's the beauty, it's a lil game that's usually overlooked, but it's by far the best game I have ever played.

This game was truly one of the best game of it’s category of all time. A timeless masterpiece and well made game. Gears For Breakfast took a long time to make this game and their effort into making it good is truly amazing. While I have my choice words about this game's story and ending, I can't deny that the soundtrack is one of the best to exist. I am a minority in that I didn't get particularly moved or emotional during the ending or the sacrifice scene. It felt, to me, like a cheap rehash of Undertale's entire ending, without the underlying things that made it work. I will not equivocate on this. That said, every other aspect of AHIT besides the story was extremely well executed and nicely made, from the gameplay to the soundtrack to the character work. I feel like I don't do it justice only describing how well some of these characters are done, how smooth the controls are and how accessible it is to even newer players. That and the easy to use mod maker, allowing aspiring developers to make levels and designs that they otherwise would never have been able to.
