This training / demo session will demonstrate how to use the Fudaa-LSPIV software to compute surface velocity and discharge from videos. Fudaa-LSPIV is a user-friendly LSPIV software, free and open-source (using GPL license), working on Windows and Linux, with English and French versions. It is developed by a robust team of 6 developers (including researchers, field
hydrologists, and computer scientists) who provides free and quick assistance. The software is optimized for fast computations thanks to Fortran (parallelized) codes developed by EDF and Inrae. It is an evolving software, with the last version 1.8.2 released in March 2021, taking into
account user requests.
During the demo, the capabilities of the software will be detailed, including video sampling, image stabilization, different modes for orthorectification (3D, simplified 2D, or scaling for dronebased measurements), PIV parameterization, and discharge computation (bathymetry, use of
spatialized values of coefficient linking surface to depth-averaged velocity).
The demo will be based on 3 cases study, and you are encouraged to download the materials associated to process your own Fudaa-LSPIV analysis before or during the demo, here:
