A Haunted Island - By Algernon Blackwood (a very creepy tale)

“A Haunted Island” was written by Algernon Blackwood and first appeared in Pall Mall Magazine, Vol. 17, No. 72, in 1899. Its first appearance in a collection was in 1906, with the publication of "The Empty House and Other Ghost Stories."
The tale revolves around a lonely cottage on an uninhabited island. The sole occupant experiences a disturbing influence that compels him to sleep downstairs in the sitting room. What unfolds is a tautly drawn, spooky occurrence.

I was just wondering if you had told your former colleague about it. I can't imagine how he must have felt, the lady was bringing him a hot cup of tea. It must have been devastating for you as well! It's a miracle that he wasn't injured. Maybe her spirit protected him and he was able to warn you! It's midnight here but I'm feeling wide awake after reading it and trying to picture it in my mind.
