Telling someone something is going to be long without them asking for it still tells them that stuff will happen, no specifics but sometimes that's all that's needed to put pieces together. And as long as "I love this part" is about the current part it's fine, but if it's about the next part and enough people say it, it can tell the person what's popular and that something major is likely to happen.

Just so everyone is aware. A spoiler isn't just explicitly saying what is going to happen in the story. Making references, allusions, or jokes about major future events also fall within spoiler territory. You may not think that you're giving anything away, and if you were the only person doing it then perhaps it would go unnoticed. But with the amount of people doing it, it doesn't take a genius to find a pattern between the comments and piece together what is likely going to happen. Everyone is excited to watch the next story arc after the xianzhou, so let's all do our best to not say ANYTHING about it. Don't talk about characters that haven't appeared yet, don't mention major plot points, don't make the same silly joke as 50 other people that ends up giving something away, don't even say things like "oh something exciting is about to happen." Just let the man play the game blindly.

If you take the pill, your Stellaron actually burns away the Mara Pill and it's effects, but you do lose control for a little bit before it does, and get examined, so they find out Dan Shu did it regardless. The Dan Shu stuff WAS originally main story content, but they put it into side-quests to make the main story more streamlined, it's why those side-quests are as fully voiced as they are, because they used to be main story content.

You have to be stupid to not figure out that there's a plot twist involving Tingyun. Also, even if he didn't (even though he definitely figured it out), it still makes him anticipate something, so instead of seeing someone surprised by events, what we see is now who is already expecting it. And these aren't recorded weeks before but a few days before. Didn't you notice that he did the trial for the banners in this patch, and in the video next to that he mentioned those trials that he did and that he would just turn it into a separate video.

@@fufu-jh that is what the warning prompt before the main quest is there for, to remind you that there is a quest that is important to the plot that if you proceed ahead, it’ll lose the essense of the quest in the first place. Admittably, the complaints were made by those who experienced it first hand when the game first launched, so now it is up to the new players to determine whether that one quest should be reinstated back. For those who doesn’t care much about the intricate details of the lore, they wont miss much, and there is just so much text to comprehend that for some it is worth skipping. For those who care about the lore, well they would most likely do as the prompt say anyway

I think it could have easily been solved by simply putting it a little earlier in the quest, before we're sent to track down Kafka.

From one of the artifact sets we can find out that dan shu not only is blind she also has an underdeveloped arm, she wears a prosthetic over it Fu xuan also has a little third eye implanted into her forehead called omniscia that allows her to see into the future, and because she is long lived it causes her endless torment and makes her crave sugar to keep up with the brain power necessary to divine

i think that's one (of many) parts to why fu xaun is unsympathetic to her situation at the end. dan shu couldn't deal with the pain the artificial eyes caused despite wanting to see and it being her greatest wish... while fu xaun willingly got an implant she didn't need cause it lets her do her job better and puts up with the endless pain without looking back or worrying about it. dan shu in her eyes took the easy way out and didn't care about causing harm to others, basically becoming the very type of person that caused her harm growing up, hurting others for self satisfaction, cause that's easier then being a good person and doing what's hard to get what she wants. something fu xaun could never understand or agree with.

Being ostracized from a very young age for centuries and looked down on even as a high member of the alchemy commission fu xuan doesn't understand precisely because she voluntarily picked to have the implant and it gives her super powers even just her hand being robotic made people treat her different despite the fact that it works perfectly fine, even if dan shu got robotic eyes and suffered the pain it would not change people dan shu turned evil when her only childhood friend that stood up to the bullies was killed by Lan while she was fighting denizens of the abundance, dan shu and her friend were researching to create a non intrusive device to allow blind xianzhou natives to see

A quick summary of Dan Shu's diary that you did not read: much like the child you helped out, she was bullied due to her blindness. She made it through it all thanks to a friend who would protect her and encourage her. When the Xianzhou Alliance found itself about to be destroyed in a giant battle against the denizens of Abundance, the Xianzhou leadership resorted to summoning the Avatar of Lan, the Aeon of the Hunt, in order to break the enemy encirclement. The Avatar won the battle, but its power was so overwhelming that it devastated both enemy and friend alike. Dan Shu's friend was among the deaths caused by this "friendly" fire. Devastated and enraged, Dan Shu became a Disciple of Sanctus Medicus in order to destroy everything Lan holds dear. It is very poetic that Fu Xuan is there, confronting Dan Shu at the end, because as we find out reading Fu Xuan's backstory (locked behind her ascensions) SHE was the one who suggested to summon the Avatar of Lan. Speaking of poetic, I love how you (rightfully) complain about spoilers in the comment, right before offhandedly spoiling one of FFXIV's biggest twists! 🤣

Foxians aren't long life species AFAIK. They live longer than humans (Yukong is 500~ yo i think) but long life species in Xianzhou means *really* long. Like thousands of years. Tingyun is a fairly young fox. Foxians>Short live species>Few centuries Outsiders>Short live species>Around a century Vidyahadra>Long live species>Reincarnation Xianzhou natives>Long live species>Thousands of years of life

Basically Dan Shu views her visual impairment as a punishment from Yaoshi since Xianzhou abandoned Abundance. Long life species suffered the consequences of short life species incompetence of population and resource control. On top of that short life species now have a superiority over long life species because prosthetics actually give them the upperhand in life. Xianzhou Luofu is a great story. I think they did an amazing job painting the bad people as good people and good people as bad people.

Been busy for a week, I finally caught up. 49:18 The funny thing is, that Dan Shu side mission was originally a main quest in the early version. You can see it by the voiced dialogue. Don't know why they changed it though. Edit: RIP Tingyun, what a neck-wrecking experience.

27:15 To answer, after taking the pellet, the moment you enter the Seat of Divine Foresight, you start hallucinating the Cloud Knight guards as mara-struck soldiers and get into the battle with them there. Once you win the battle, Qingzu snaps you out of it and finds out what happened. The result ends up the same where you face Dan Shu at the Artisanship Comission later on anyway but personally what happened at the Seat of Divine Foresight was what shook me the most for this quest.

55:12 That’s why people said Bailu isn’t that great because she doesn’t cleanse. If you have healers that cleanse like Natasha skill/Huohuo skill/ Lynx Ult/ Luocha skill and passive, you can get rid of the hp bar cut. That is also why Bronya is good because her skill 100% action advance allies, cleanse them of one debuff, and buff them simultaneously.

Donny, a tip if you ever actually get stuck on a boss fight, 2 sustains is actually really good for story bosses, as long as you don't die the enemy dies eventually, so I'd say a setup like yours with Fire MC and bailhu works really well, you can also swap Fire MC with March 7th, I am generally of the opinion that not having certain characters makes the game way too hard is largely wrong and comes from a place of trying to brute force it with damage focused comps.

Nah, it's very hard to make March 7th work properly without investment and dedicated builds. Of course you could use her somewhat decently but she would make you lose more battles or time than what you can win. At this point in the story of the game, it's a matter of 1 sustain and who hits the hardest. After Phantylia, that's when you actually are going to REALLY need two sustains or a single overpowered sustain, like Gallagher or Lingsha.

@@GrimTzu I'm saying this because the big bug is coming up, a lot of people get suck in that fight, March is really good for that fight actually, since at this point his gear is not good, he'll have to sacrifice damage for survival, and March is really good at that since her shield actually still scales the highest of all shield characters.

@@higorgabriel2598 True, but honestly, with Bailu on the team, You'd only have to build her up to have more effect RES so she doesn't get disabled and that's it, surviving the entire fight with Preservation trailblazer, Bailu with 50% (or more) effect RES and a team composed of 2 DPS or 1 DPS and 1 buffer is fine. I passed through that one with Preservation TB, Bailu, Qingque and Luka (Yeah, I know who uses Luka these days, guess I did...), I must add that I used consumable Items that increased defense and Effecr RES, it really comes down to that stat when you don't have a cleansing healer on the team.

i 100% understand not reading dan shu’s diary because it’s so long, but when i did the quest, i was interested enough in her backstory and experiences as a visually impaired character that i read it. it’s really eye opening abiut how her experiences shaped her beliefs, and how she’s actually super contradictory and doesnt make sense. like she constantly contradicts herself even though her heart might be in the right place.

Nice intro, you did a great job haha. Also, Foxians live to about 300 if I recall, and Welt (or his mind at least) has been around for a while. The main races of the Xianzhou fleet are: Humans, which were the ones originally blessed by the Plagues Author. Vidyadhara, who were blessed by Loong in his image. Foxians, who were rescued by the Xianzhou in the past (after the conversion from Abundance to Hunt) and became part of the culture. There are also Heliobi (examples being that blue flame in Herta's Space Station, and that giant flaming fox in HuoHuo's ult (PS. He possessed her tail, and by extension, her)). Trend of the Universal Market is handy in some niche cases, specifically with Trailblazer. It helps add DoT for some DPS that rely on it (Kafka, Black Swan, Dr Ratio, Acheron). Yukong is also super niche, and requires a crapload of speed tuning. I wouldn't recommend using her very much unless you're absolutely dedicated. Mostly used in DHIL teams but can be annoying to set up properly. Also, I loved the windows shutdown audio lmao.

Pacing and integration issues aside, I think the Dan Shu questline might have some of the best story and character ideas in the game. I really like sympathetic villains and wish she had been woven more cleanly into the main questline and been given a larger role to play in it. Also, when there is dialog when you can freely move between objectives, the timing is usually terrible and if you move towards the objective in a manner that would be expected, a lot of it gets cut off when the next trigger is hit to either start another line of dialog or a cutscene. If you want to hear something being said in these instances its usually best to just stop and wait for the dialog to complete before moving on.

You are really super entertaining In regard to pulling, i believe pulling for certain characters like huohuo (the short one on the banner that you felt you can pull for) is important. She can remove debuffs from your allies, which is super important eg in the case where you fought dan shu at a higher equilibrium level, you 100% would have died(setiously though, once you raise your equilibrium level, you will suffer). Shes more or less of equal value to sparkle for your account. Sparkle is a god tier buffer and huohuo is a god tier sustain unit. Depends on what you prefer, either doing truckloads of damage or keeping your team alive. I guess youll have to make that choice when you get to the more difficult parts of the story, especially in penacony and back in the herta space station Cant wait for the next one(wink wink) Though really, every episode is epic in its own way. Spoilers are wrong, but i don't think building anticipation is bad coz we all do it when recommending any show There's no way youll see whats coming next. If you think this is impressive then......
