That was beautifully put together and very emotional. What a shame for the family to see their home flattened. Joyce seems a lovely lady. Also just to mention the skill from that machine driver.

Thank you, very much appreciated. Joyce really is a fabulous lady, full of love and laughter and I'm sure we'll stay in touch from here on. Damo, the driver, really blew my mind with his skills...it was an extension of his arm!

This lovely film made me cry, but I know it commemorates so much happiness of one family living in a wonderful place. So ultimately not a sad film, even though I couldn’t watch all the demolition. A metaphor for life

Thank you, my friend. 🥰 You can't imagine (or maybe you can?) how nervous I've been since it aired. I went straight to work at 4pm and didn't check how it went down till just now. Many, many hours went into it. Really appreciate your opinion buddy, you've seen the progression from the beginning. Davey 😊

I don’t have the right words to express how emotional this video is. Your title is true, both heart-breaking and heart-warming. Definitely not just a house on the cliff. Joyce and Andy’s family home. Joyce is such a lovely person. I loved Andy’s sun shade. The ode to Joyce and Andy’s house was sung by the voice of an angel, Wing commander

I'm delighted with your response...it is as I hoped. And yes, she has the voice of an angel. 😍 An interesting fact...she sang that without any pitch cue...when I compared with the original guitar part, she had sang exactly the same pitch (which happens to be 432htz)!! She's what I call 'a proper singer' 😊😍

A very real and raw film, reflecting that nature is so powerful. Like the strength of family and love. This needs to be seen worldwide to stop us taking this planet for granted. The song makes the hairs on you neck stand up, this could be made into a popular folk song. Thank you

Was thinking how carefully and compassionately this house was being demolished , then my heart broke when i saw the clothes still hanging in the wardrobe and again when the claw pulled them out and they hung blowing in the breeze before their last journey into the skip ,very moving video ,mother nature has a lot to answer to .
@timothystravels8492
@timothystravels8492 18 күн бұрын
I found it strangely compassionate also, the delicate way the house was dismantled. I imagined it being bulldozed. The driver, Damo, really has a talent. And yes, I found it very moving when the clothes were moved...😌
@Catkinscat
@Catkinscat 18 күн бұрын
@@dawnbetts400 the clothes hanging from the claw really got to me as well 😔. I don’t blame the natural world for doing what it naturally does, I do think a few sea defences would have helped preserve the property for a few more years though. It all seems to come down to wether the authorities think it’s worth the financial cost of the defences to save that piece of land, and unfortunately peoples feelings are not a consideration when it comes to making those kind of decisions, it would be great if they were 🤷‍♀️
@dawnbetts400

Finally got round to seeing this Davy and how sad that the home they had bought had to be demolished because of the sea erosion. It was very touching how you went through the house and mingled the old footage and the new footage together to show how it had changed over the years . Great Documentary as usual mate can’t wait to see the rest of the videos you’ve put on here since Christmas. I hope you had a great Christmas and here’s to a happy and prosperous new year to you both ❤️❤️

I went Saturday the 21/12/24, the site was cleared and the digger still there. I wanted to look around and document it. I have done this with houses on my channel. Im glad this house got shown and will be remembered. It will be shown on maps for all time, but now people can see what it was really, like, as a home.

How sad for the poor lady seeing her forever home being demolished, im sure anybody that buys a house in the area knows the inevitability of its future it still cannot be easy. Unfortunately this week I saw a video on KZbin of one of these urban explorers snooping around this house and the lady’s possessions. It showed a notice on the consumer unit stating that the electricity had been disconnected only the day before.
@timothystravels8492
@timothystravels8492 18 күн бұрын
To be fair, it was a great house to be explored and wouldn't blame someone for having a snoop. Joyce had collected the belongings she wanted and didn't have room for any more.

Incredibly moving. Well done for putting this video together. I moved to the area three years ago and could see Joyce's house from my bedroom window - a landmark to show where the sea was. We were told when we moved here that it would take maybe 500 years for the sea to reach our home ... not so sure now.

My parents had a caravan at Easington in 2001/2 and they ended up getting one at Withernsea because the site was falling into the sea at an alarming rate! Maybe one day I will go look and see at just how much the sea has claimed in that time!
