No extraneous commentary, no jump-cuts, no tilted camera shots, no people. This is a masterclass of POV video - Bravo! Please keep up the great work 👍

Another wonderful video with the golden sun bursting through the trees. I'm sure that many people who have stressful days will sit and watch this video and feel their problems melt away for a while. Even someone who might not have had a stressful day but has seen the evening round up of the worst news in the world might be able to get some perspective on what is real by seeing the world waking up in Hazleton and knowing that, despite it all, things are basically okay for more of the time than they are not. Thanks for sharing this and taking us on this gentle morning wander.

Morning, Jago. I hope you have had a pleasant week. Thank you so very much for your lovely comment. I am glad you enjoyed Hazelton, it is always good to also document the lesser known smaller villages, don’t you think? This is the last walk with the ‘new camera’ as it has been sent back, the image quality & low light performance for an action cam was outstanding but sadly I could not abide the horizontal rolling from using it with a gimbal which was due to E.I.S conflicting with the gimbal, I did try switching the in camera stabilisation off but then I didn’t like the micro jitters from using just the gimbal for stabilisation, and you know what action cams are like on their own in very low light, the image falls apart and is all jumpy! So back to the P2 again! At least for now :). Have fun if you are out and about this weekend. Thanks again. OAAW

@@OutandaboutWalking Very interesting to read what you have to say about the camera. I grew up with cameras that had film in them where taking a single image meant you had to be careful because making a print was, for the time, quite expensive. Later on, I became interested in making movies shooting on 8mm, then on 16mm having to synchronise sound recording in an editing suite with Steenbecks. And here we are now, walking with cameras (no tracks necessary), shooting footage that has such depth and quality. We can afford to shoot hours of footage at no cost at all with a broadcast medium that is free to use and with no gatekeepers (unless you use copyrighted footage or have gratuitous nude scenes). This is such an incredible age to be alive. For that reason, I might not spot the flaws, I am still operating with a sense of incredulity that we can shoot footage that looks as good as it does. I think what you have done is perfected a genre (and while I would never enquire about such a thing you are probably monetised too) and so you have to maintain the standard you have set. But for me, your videos are so great already. They accomplish that sense of ease and relaxed fascination that makes walking with you a pleasure. And, yes, I agree that the smaller villages are every bit as worthy of shooting as the larger or more famous ones. They deserve to be seen and enjoyed. But I also love it when you venture outside the Cotswold area or shooting in the wooded countryside coming across little marvels as you go. The quality of the picture always seems amazing to me.

@jagoturner it is absolutely mind boggling to think we have this kind of technology so readily available...a world away from what I had growing up in the 70's. I'm not sure I have perfected a genre as I feel, with every new walk I am constantly learning & evolving but I am flattered that you think so ☺. Regarding the quality, in post, I tend to over analyse things, and seem to notice every little glitch or flaw. The channel has been monetised since March and is now my primary form of income, so in a way, my livelihood does rest on the quality of the videos to some degree (plus I do want to give viewers the best quality as much as I possibly can. This is another reason why I am so very grateful for all the support that you kindly give. But also tho, we both know how much it means to us from a personal standpoint, this is one of the reasons why I am keen as mustard to support your channel, I honestly & genuinely think your videos are really amazing...Please, keep them coming!
@jagoturner
@jagoturner Жыл бұрын
@@OutandaboutWalking I will keep them coming. Largely because it is wonderful to feel a part of this genre. I am very happy that you are able to make a living from something you so clearly love. That's the dream. And I do understand that your agonising over perceived flaws must increase when there's a professional element to it. To be honest, I agonise over my own videos but I know that much of the time, a flaw is better than losing a moment. I did a few evening videos that I know are terribly flawed but I still published them because there was something about them that I felt made them worth putting out there anyway. Others might have felt they were just crappy but I love them. I am still finding my way of course which is why your support is so incredibly valuable. But I am happy that I have some people who enjoy watching some of my videos. It's a blessing in and of itself. I know, not just from my views but through the comments you get, that your videos help many people get through tough days. That's about as good as it gets.

@@jagoturner it’s a funny thing, because when I watch your videos, I honestly never notice any flaws, all I see is a POV image floating along so effortlessly that captures many beautiful sights along the way. So, maybe it is because I get wrapped up in the moment and enjoy your content so much that I don’t notice what you might consider to be flaws. It is good tho to be able to discuss this kind of thing with a fellow creator, as it is very interesting, and probably beneficial to hear and share our own thought processes, so thanks for that also :)

Thank you for all the hard work you do to bring us these beautiful walks. I recently complained about the unwanted intrusion of mid-roll ads but I’m accepting this as a fair exchange for such beautiful scenery. Here in my part of Southern Ontario these ads scare the hell out of me as the volume is cranked up to urge me to eat a throughly unhealthy MacDonalds breakfast! In spite of all this, your gentle and meditative walks are so rewarding. Stay safe, but it you’re ever able to capture a summer thunderstorm (safely in the distance of course) that would be spectacular. On behalf of all of us out here. Thank you. John, Ontario, Canada

It helps to have some of these shot in the early morning sun, as the Cotswold stone lights up in it. The overcast and rainy mornings are very atmospheric, but I deliberately seek out the videos with the sun bathing the top of the trees, or here, with the church tower lit up in a golden hue. Especially interesting to see the silhouette of a robot, earnestly carrying a video camera before him...........
