It's Autumn on our Portuguese farm and time to plant our fields for the spring harvest. Joaquim has already prepared the fields and today we get to see the seed spreading (sowing) machine in action. Its dry and dusty but the timing couldn't be better as the rain is coming and soon the fields will be full of lush green grasses.

And I have followed you from the start. Here's to another 4. ❤. And as for your exercise, 5 Months ago, I also decided to pull up my fitness socks. I am disabled so running is in the far past. So, I decided to swim. The first day I managed 3 lengths of the pool and nearly died! This Wednesday I reached my goal. I swam 40 lengths. 1000m. 1 Km!!!! PS, I am 70 years old. Start your running!

Wow thats impressive! I took a bike up to the top of the gardunha mountains yesterday... had it on a very low power setting to ease myself back into it. I definitely couldnt swim that far right now! Well done

Hi Ken and Gina. I've been a subscriber for a good few years now and it's been a joy to share your journey. The bond you have formed with your wonderful neighbour, is a joy to behold, A measure of a man's success in life, can be measured by the true friendships he forms and it's great to see your interactions with Joachim. I'm an old fashioned bloke in many ways and can kind of get where people are coming from wham they say that you should train your dogs to behave as they should. I have had working/hunting dogs all of my life, and they have to do as I bid. That is nothing to do with ego, I like to think I don't have one, but more to the fact that I may be in situations where there are all kinds of farm livestock about and I need to KNOW that my dogs are 100% steady and trustworthy. I love my dogs and I know that they love me. dogs are pack animals and will always respect a good pack leader. You and Gina are beautiful, soft human beings and that is ultra evident by how much you care for all your animals but don't let them rule you is all I will say, they will sense it and make your life difficult. Animals should enhance our lives not make them challenging and stressful. Thank you for another lovely vlog. 😄😄

The only thing I regret is not buying a nice 4x4 vehicle in the UK before we moved here so that we could have matriculated it for free. The 4X4 prices here are crazy and it would have been very handy to have :)

Hey Ken nice to see you I have a thought about the fencing. Why not try an electric fence. Alot of folks think they are not good with dogs but that might work. The dog wears a collar and gets a shock if they get to close to the fence. I could even help teach him some boundaries. They are pricy but could help and keeping the visual in tack. Even if you do a sheep fence you can ad some sort of electric shock factor for the dogs. I don't know it is a thought. Gosh can't believe it has been 4 yrs already. I have been an avid follower of you and Gina. ;-) Please let Gina know I wish her a great trip and safe travels. I remember that house! Have a great week..

Hi, I think "invisible" fences are available, boundaries set on computer and dog wears a collar that makes some sort of unpleasant noise if boundary is approached.

Olive harvesting normaly is done in the end of Outuber until the end of november.

V nice to hear you say you've now been living the best 10th of your life in Portugal. Maybe on days you can't run or cycle, you can stomp down shooters off your olive trees? That seems like a kinda cool substitute aerobic activity. For me, the gathering the broken off shooters to pile up would be aerobic too, pant pant, pant 🥵
