I think when the bill comes due, the "witnesses" are going to have a lot of explaining to do... provided any of them are left.

Yep, eventually we're going to take their ship and when we've reverse engineered it....

Those aliens had better pray to their gods that humanity never gets serious about space exploration.

They better pray hard that we didn't find out what they did to the abductees by sending them to fight alone to the death.

I have to wonder how these guys would've reacted to the human immediately going, "for the love of all things holy and sacred please don't send me back, take me away from Earth forever and I'll do anything."

Based on the story, they'd still have left him to die a horrifying death. The plan always was that he never leave that planet alive.

Great story! They may have been watching Earth, but they don't understand Humanity. They have started down the FAFO road; may God have mercy on them when they reach the end of the road!

That's awful. Taken and forced to murder and then die. Horrible fate!

The Spiral Arm Coalition are the villains of the story. Willing to enslave a human to save their butts.

Have you studied humanities past? Or present? Your entire civilization destroyed. Or one alien? But they could have provided him with a respirator. If I understood it was chlorine in air that caused his death? So protect his breathing. Then return him. Who would believe him?

Chains weaker than steel ? how can those guys build working space ships ?
@talyn393214 күн бұрын
I was thinking the same thing.
@artyd428 күн бұрын
Tensile strength isn't key for a working space ship. It's mainly ability to enter and exit an atmosphere. Ironically the space shuttle is made of aluminum and silicon for the outer hull. Carbon composite is strong enough for most of this to hold in place. You learn a lot of weird things when you pay attention. This guy is also a farmhand, and not a soldier. Picture Jack Reacher showing up on your doorstep? No, the big one. In the meantime our .22 liquifies the target hit. Most likely their structures can't resist anything higher. Now remember that their most heavily fortified base has a few hundred people. I already know I can break some minor chains and they don't even have the strength for these. An actual soldier would be far too deadly for these people. He'd still be alive too.
@talyn39328 күн бұрын
@artyd42 tensile strength is absolutely necessary in spaceship construction. The components you list are for weight management and heat dissipation, but stainless steel is still structurally used.
@talyn39328 күн бұрын
@artyd42 it's a pressure vessel performing delta v at a minimum. The idea that they are a physically weaker species so they create paper ships makes no sense. Why would humans advance past copper if that was already adequate to hold us? Purpose use materials are far far denser than steel too. Military composite tank armour, for example.

At least they picked somebody from the country. If they picked a high level democrat they would be too scared that the weapon would spontaneously jump out of their hand.
