It is a wonderful place. I have visited twice from the UK. On one occasion, I suggested to a colleague who works in Darmstadt that we visit it - he had never been and was just amazed!

I visited first when I was 14. I had a. Pen friend in Gross Gerau and they took me to Darmstadt and I fell in love. I was the son of a coal miner so it was so astonishing to see such a beautiful place.
