I once read Surah Yaseen after fajr, after a long, long long night of pure mental agony that went on inside my head. I could barely focus, my mind was running. I had no solid intention, but something inside of me told me to recite it. and I did, sat on my prayer mat, my head feeling like it would explode any second, my body aching, and every word I recited, I felt more and more content. with every word, it felt as if all the mess inside of me was so easily evaporating. once I finished, I could barely recall how full of pain my soul felt and the night felt like nothing but a distant memory. the slightest bit of intention can do wonders. that’s the first time I felt such a healing from the Quran, I would love to experience it again. I started reading the Quran with translation a few years ago because I loved the recitation from some reciters. That developed into a love of recitation, and then that developed into an interest in the meaning(s) of the Surahs. Today, after almost 4yrs, I can say that alhamdulillah my life is different, and my mindset is different. Allah guided me alhamdulillah. And I agree with you 100% that the barakah comes in every single department of your life. Jazakallah khayr brother for this reminder.

You need a plan on this issue besides prayer. 1. Ask yourself why you struggle? Lack of knowledge? Than start learning islam the best way to start is to learn the sira of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The prayer doesnt need you, you need the prayer. The first Allah will ask us about is the prayer if its bad, than Allah wont look at any other good deed you did so you will have a big problem on the longest day of history. 2. Are you distracted by something which decreases your iman so prayer feels difficult for you? Check your sin rate. Figure out what it is eg zina, alcohol, party, slandering people, lying (these are just examples) if you figured it out its already a progress in the right direction because as a human your brain needs to understand a problem to be able to work on it. Step back from big sins, repent sincerely by crying to Allah and ask him to help you. Talk to Allah say what it is, I mean he knows anyway so just say it "Ya Allah I commit this sin and I cant get away from it help me or I will be lost" 3. Are you lazy when it comes to prayer? Well you should know every person is lazy and the ones who are not are supported by Allah because nobody can pray except if Allah helps us. So whenever there is a fard prayer say these words "la hawla wala qwata illah billah" meaning: there is neither might nor power except with Allah" 4. If you cant pray that means your sins are too much so start decreasing them by donation. If you dont have much money start with few dollars/cents. Put them into your local mosque and make dua. 5. Remember Allah a lot say often la ilaha ilallah, subhanAllah etc 6. Get rid of bad friends and look for friends who worship Allah. 7. Understand you only have one life wallahi its one chance we have, go to the graves of the non muslims and think about the fact that they would give all what they have just to come back to life and make one sujood to Allah, but its over. Their time is gone. You should thank Allah that he didnt send the angel of death to you yet, so take this life seriously. May Allah help us all

Your case reminds me of a friend of mine who said he was at one point depressed. He seemed to power through it with the tailwind of the Quran and David Goggins podcasts. Those who find strength are the ones who look for it I suppose, and you sound like you're doing a fine job on that end. Hope those skin issues are doing better too.

The first thing I do when I weak up is listen to the word of Allah recited on TV, Makkah Live channel. I want that to be the first thing I perceive after the daily resurrection after our death (sleeping). It is beautiful that the first thing to hear AND listen is the words of the One who created us. Makkah live is on TV. But if you can't, it is on yt (though make sure to skip the automatic Add that the gready yt send even though the channel is not monetized) you want to hear Allah words not an ad. it usually is only one add when you just start the video but better on TV if you have it. Some recitation are very beautiful in 1.5 speed too depending on the reciter.
