Hi Emma, while I love your videos I adore this one. I came across the first Shardlake novel in our local public library years ago and instantly fell in love with the way of storytelling of CJ Sansom, his presentation of the characters, the vivid description of tudor England.... And while I read this first book still in German, I switched to the original english versions for the following ones, as I couldn't wait for the translations. I hope this won't be the last novel of Matthew Shardlake, as he has become something like a friend of mine. Cheers from Germany, Chris

You did it the wrong way around. You have to read the book *first* and *then* visit Norwich (and Wymondham) to get a feeling for the places and areas he describes.

I gave up with this one really easily. Absolutely loved the previous six, but, since Henry VIII has died, it seems its lost its way, he was the spectre in the background (along with Richard Rich) and I found this book took ages to set up the political/religious background and I just wasn't invested or interested. Maybe I should revisit it and persevere.

2.29 OMG I'm annoyed. The 'peasants' were annoyed at the enclosures because they wanted to graze their *sheep*. They didn't *keep* sheep. They grazed their goats or a house cow and perhaps a pig, and the gdonkey which was an important means to get about and earn a living. Please, use facts. What you stated was as wrong as saying that Henry VIII closed monasteries because he just didn't like monks. Sheep were for rich landowners, not peasants, who were more interested than feeding themselves than amassing gold.
