I used to call my friends on the Western Electric 554 rotary dial phone. Best phone ever.

You know what I often miss saying "Hello, who is it?" when the non-caller ID phone would ring, we would fight to be the first one to answer it, even if we knew it wasn't for any of us. But I always hated when one of us kids would answer the phone and it would be for one of us and my mom would ask "Who is it?" I don't know why that always bugged me. I would always have thought "I mean if the call isn't for you and I am still on the phone then maybe don't worry about it?!" I know, I know... I was a kid.

I remember back in 1997 when my parents got our first compaq computer and it had the compaq phone center which was basically a speaker phone inside the hard drive. We hardly used it though.

Edison was not so much an inventor as an appropriator of other people's ideas
