Well said. That's why I'm leaving the US and moving to Scotland come retirement time. If you don't have good insurance in the US you can lose everything with one heart attack or stroke. Mass gun shootings are a monthly event now. And the previous US president unleashed hateful, racist, and homophobic people who don't believe in science and medicine and refuse to wear masks and get vaccinated so this pandemic never ends. The American dream has been replaced with a nightmare and I'm getting the hell out for greener and saner pastures in Scotland.

Whether we live in Scotland, the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia or anywhere in Europe, we can always choose to bloom where we are. The world does not change, we do. Be good and do good in collaboration with others and then build a likeminded community based upon shared interest and shared values and share your collective creations for the benefit of all. Eventually, the darkness with wither away into smaller and smaller corners for lack of attention. There is a whole world of people like us who are waiting to be discovered in our own back yards.
