Far more complete and dignified than what was shown in Season 22. I especially like how you didn't make Percy into some naive and childish character like what was done in the past series, and Henry wasn't reduced to a "scaredy engine".

All the original engines (1-5) lived at vicarstown before relocating to tidmouth and ffarquahr. Gordon fell in a ditch there, James span like a top on the turntable, and the big engines went on strike here. It was around the 1930s that they relocated.

This truly is the best explanation for Henry’s departure from Tidmouth Sheds and The Steam Team! Excellent job mate! Mattel knows the solution to make things right with the adult Thomas fans but they just don’t want to: expand Tidmouth Sheds to 10 engine births instead of 7 and that way, Edward, Henry and Toby can be welcomed back to The Steam Team!

Nia doesn't exist in my canon. Rebecca lives at Knapford Sheds. Thomas, Percy and Toby remained at the branch line sheds.

ThomasSirHandel I do agree. My possible universe has Gordon, Henry and James remain at Tidmouth while Edward, Thomas, Percy and Toby remain near their branch lines. Henry would rotate between Tidmouth and Vicarstown, based on plot and/or what jobs he has to do.

Now that was truly a wonderful tale. It's rare to find someone who looks at the show's changes in an objective light like I do. My theory was that because Henry was being sent to the Mainland more frequently since perhaps "Tale of the Brave", he opted to move to Vicarstown to save on travel time and to potentially avoid any accidents like in "Journey Beyond Sodor". But this honestly makes MUCH more sense than mine does. While I was slightly disappointed that S22 didn't provide a reason for Henry leaving, I was glad they wisely chose to show how the others would react to it, especially Gordon, who's been shown plenty of times to be the most pessimistic about change in any form. Plus there's always a chance they'll have an episode in S23 that gives us something. The ending was very heartwarming and seeing the other engines still keeping in close touch with Henry was more than welcoming. The little moment with Rebecca was a surprise, but in a good way; acting as a precursor to her debut episode. The only glaring error throughout was that Tidmouth Sheds has six berths instead of the correct seven. So in conclusion, where I normally find bashing and complaining about these specific changes to the show, it's extremely refreshing and comforting to find things like this that capture the spirit of the show to the point where they can be considered canon, while still providing a well executed story and keeping the characters consistent with their TV counterparts. Keep up the great work.

@nicholetheotter19575 жыл бұрын
TheImperialDiamondSpinosaurus Vicarstown is closer to the Mainland, where a lot of his jobs seem to be based as he has to take all those goods. I would see this fanmade story as if Henry realised that the Mainland is full of new places, and that he realises that he should live closer to not just fulfil his jobs, but also explore it, as if he had “big adventures” of his own.

@nicholetheotter19575 жыл бұрын
Woytek101 It would also be to do with his regular Mainland goods duties. By living closer to the Mainland, he knows that there’s always a big adventure. Because he knows that none of the other Sodor engines get the chance to see what’s beyond Sodor as much as he does. By moving closer to the Mainland, Henry knew it was another big chapter for him, because he knows that the Mainland is full of adventures. He knew that if Thomas was able to see the world, it was time that he himself saw the world too. STH feels proud of Henry for making such a grown-up decision, knowing that while he may not spend as much time on Sodor as he used to, he knew that Henry was always willing to try something new. Leaving Tidmouth Sheds behind and breaking another barrier may have been the hardest decision yet, but Henry knows that Rosie is a good friend who he always gets to share his stories with. Rosie knew that Henry had grown so much as an engine, and that there’s always new things to discover.

NewController01 - Because the sheds were never established as their home until S4, the series was following the RWS and many of the fans back in the 1980’s/90’s were very young back. This is pretty much a weak argument to make and I liked ‘A Shed For Edward’ and being all good with the idea of them moving :P
@Joey158115 жыл бұрын

@ThomasSirHandel5 жыл бұрын
The branch line sheds were still technically Tidmouth in the TV Series. But the Steam Team concept needs to die and should have never existed. I can understand Edward, but I personally think it would have made more sense for James to be relocated as a punishment for destroying the sheds. Thomas, Percy and Toby should have remained at the branch line sheds for Season 3 onward.

Henry reflecting on his decision be like: “I know it was hard leaving my friends behind at Tidmouth, including Gordon. But as I learned, if Edward made a change that was best for him, then I knew that I needed a change too. I went through a big change myself. I saw myself change as an engine, transitioning from an experimental failure into one of Sodor’s strongest, bravest and most reliable engines, because I never gave up. Moving to Vicarstown permanently is another new chapter in my life. Just like my big overhaul at Crewe, changing sheds is another new beginning. My goods trains take me to and from the Mainland every day, and I’m happy that I get to travel beyond Sodor and stretch my wheels. Living at Vicarstown has opened me up to new experiences I never got to have at Tidmouth. I have a new friend in Rosie, and I get to meet other visiting Mainland engines. Because I now live at Vicarstown, I also now live closer to the Mainland where my jobs take me to. I love going to the Mainland as it’s always fun to go on adventures and see exciting new places. I’m a grown up engine now, and even the Fat Controller is proud at how I made such a mature decision. Moving to the other side of Sodor after spending almost my whole life at Tidmouth was a hard choice, but I’m a strong engine both physically and emotionally. As a certain blue tank engine told me, it’s time that I go out and see the world too. Rosie always loves hearing stories about my amazing adventures on the Mainland and how busy it is. Change can be a good thing, and I’m happy that I made a decision that would be for the better. Also, I wish Rebecca the best of luck taking my place at Tidmouth.”

And for Mattel, I am most frustrated with the fact that they can but they just being sloth and wants to squeeze money rather than investing. I mean, they don’t even have to write Henry and Edward off. Instead, they could have the shed rebuild which could easily hosted even more new characters, the Tidmouth shed in later RWS books is already a good references as it is LMS style roundhouse with around 12-15 berths.
