A home made slug trap with a yeast filled bait.

The experiment begins with my home made slug trap. It's amazing what you can make out of an old milk bottle. You can of course buy traps that you put solution into but I have been given a recipe from a fellow allotment holder that he assures me will easily and cheaply attract the slugs. This solution means I don't have to waste my beer on the slugs which makes me very happy. I hope to save my purple sprouts this way as I have nearly used up my spare plants by having to replace those eaten in the past week.
It is apparently the yeast in the beer that the slugs are interested in and so this solution uses yeast, water, sugar or honey and its mixed together which creates something that attracts the slugs.
The holes in the trap are at ground level which means the slugs fall in and can't get out.
