You’re right, horses are herd animals and if possible should be kept with other horses, unfortunately that isn’t always possible and therefore we need to provide them with as much companionship as possible. My horse is happy and healthy.

My first and lifetime pony loved a place to himself and refused to accept another horse or any animal sharing with him. To the point of doing it some serious damage. Absolutely loved us and so safe a driving pony.

Horses are like people, some are social, some not so much. The danger is in expecting them to all be the same I feel.

One acre? In NJ USA we need 5 acres per horse.

Okay maybe it depends on density or something. This is in the dry tropics in Queensland, Australia. Queensland is a bit like Texas.

@@connectedhorsemanship We get the four seasons but in no way similar to the dryness and heat Texas. Called the Garden State and produces much produce, lots of farmland, lots of pasture and unhilly terrain. Home to Horse farms, Horse rescue farms and rehabilitation farms for retarded children, etc. The North Atlantic hugs the entire Eastern coastline. I don't think there are many similarities 😅 But ya, 5 acres per Horse is the Law. You can bring them up on YT should you want a look 🥰

Horse's should have hay 24 7.
@connectedhorsemanship
@connectedhorsemanship 3 ай бұрын
They should have access to roughage most of the day, at least every 4 hours but not necessarily 24/7 sometimes they are too fat and need a diet but thanks for your input!
