I live in West Des Moines, am retired, laying in bed wishing there was a breeze outside as I am not one who likes complete silence and not so much as a blade of grass blowing. It didn't look stormy to me, and I was shocked when I heard the sirens go off, the wind rev up, the trees bending to the ground, that's when I figured God gave me a little too much of what I asked for and better hi-tail out of bed with the cat and make sure I bring all the plants I bought yesterday inside! I have no where to go but the bathroom, so hunkering down in a safe place is not not going to happen, just hope and pray the winds aren't strong enough to blow my place down and I wake up in a field somewhere miles from here not knowing where I am. That is, if I wake up! Have a good one folks. This was said to be one of the worst years in weather and if anyone knows Revelations, you will understand the wrath of these storms that will continue and not letting up.

@craig3540 True. But we've had some significant tornadoes within the past decade in the DFW. The 2015 EF4 in Rowlett and the October 2019 EF3 in North Dallas. None of which were under a moderate risk. Plus, the EF1 in Grapevine back in December of 2022.

I live in Nebraska and about an hour and a half ago we had 3 severe thunderstorm warnings and it started to hail probably pea to penny sized (on the weather app said penny sized hail) my dad said to get downstairs so we did, he said the trees were spinning around in a circle. Heavy rain and strong winds, made the county east of us have a tornado warning or watch don't remember. Definitely something to watch out for. (Forgot to mention it was thundering and lighting quite bad)
