This was a refreshing watch. I enjoyed seeing a new, yet a much more approachable side to Stray Kids. I'm learning new things about Skz!
Let me know what you want me to watch! Or better yet, suggest another type of content I should make that could help you learn more about dance! Whether you're an aspiring dancer, training to be a K-Pop idol, or just want to appreciate the art of dance-
I want to share my knowledge with YOU.
Hope ya'll enjoy this video!
Quick about me:
My real name is Tad, but DonKawaii/Don was simply an IGN name I created playing FF14 online, so I kinda just rolled with it. Lol. You can call me either one. I am also a teacher, and I teach people dance. And normally, I teach my students dance through sharing my own choreography, giving people drills or exercises to build foundation and technique. and I've been dancing for 15 years mainly growing up through Hip Hop dance culture, but have also taken inspiration from other dance artforms such as ballet, jazz, and tap. And how I got into K-Pop was because the main three groups, Wonder Girls, Big Bang, and SNSD. That followed with other things hallyu like korean dramas, variety shows, and the rest is history.

I feel like a sister song to this piece would either be Levanter or Voices. Especially Levanter bc Scars was created during the time they promoted that song/album, so it has the same feel to it. If you wanted to see more of the “human” side of Stray Kids, I’d say dive more into their earlier work like during 2018/2019 bc their discography during that time was more about going on a journey of self discovery & figuring themselves out individually or as a group and finding their color in the music industry and that’s honestly what leads you to the more “hard hitting” Stray Kids bc God’s Menu is what solidified their sound/their genre/their identity in the k industry. But the best thing about these boys is that they have a variety of genres of music they like to play with, personally I feel like the real treasure is all in their b side tracks. So yeah like I mentioned before, Levanter or Voices are beautiful songs to look into w/ amazing choreo. Voices Performance Video would be considered as the “mv” if you will, and their Voices Special Video would be considered as the “dance practice”

Couldn't have said it any better. Yes truly, the real treasure is in their bsides. Voices got me into them and into kpop really, changed my whole perception of what music really is. Connected me to so many people and made me realise I'm not alone w my internal struggles. Truly really powerful with their music I'd say.

For seungmin's solo part in scars with the mic stand, seungmin said that the choreographer made it for him saying that he wanted to try drawing seungmin's future which is why it was centered around a mic. Seungmin feels touched every time he does it. They have performed scars live several times in Japanese shows, the choreography is as it is with live performance too. Other Japanese release with choreography from stray kids: - all in - top

scars is about their story on how they get to who they are right now. all the sweats, tears and 'scars' they put out and got during their journey also teach them how they won't fall back bcs of everything that happened in the past. bcs of the same scars that bring them down, it also helps them to get back up on their feet. thank you for your reaction don. loves it

There is SO much of "this type of side" in their music. It's just that most people only bother with their title tracks and main b-sides, the majority of which are in the vein of the expected big, bombastic Stray Kids style. But they use their b-sides to explore and experiment and emote, and there's just so much more to them than the hardcore bangers. People have mentioned Levanter and Voices in this comments section, and I heartily agree with them having a similar emotional tone (also, two of the best songs ever). If you were more familiar with the SKZ lore/storyline(s), you'd recognize that the Scars video is really significant. Like Levanter, it makes direct references to numerous previous videos (including the Thunderous trailer), but now there's even more material to pull from. And this time it's a Japanese release doing the tying-together, which is a first. It also goes further than Levanter did, in that this time it's not only incorporating both timelines/parallel universes in the main Korean storyline, but also pulling in the Japanese timeline/universe and some of the Mixtape universe. It's the first time I know of where elements of all four concurrent timelines/parallel universes are represented. Which to me makes the Scars video the next turning point, the way Levanter was before it. Anyway, lore and its complexity and everyone's theories aside, SKZ's discography is _incredibly_ diverse and includes a lot of beautiful, emotional, relatable content that's overlooked by 80% of the people who think they know what SKZ is about. And that's a shame because so much of their best work is in those underknown b-sides.

I think my favourite part about this whole dance is that throughout it all, you can see the members supporting each other. (I.e - in the beginning when everyone is surrounding bangchan, they have their hands over chan’s heart. During the section before the microphone part, they pat seungmin on the back and chan - the leader and one who got seungmin into skz - is the one that gave him the microphone. There’s a lot of other moments as well) but I think the reason it rllt hits deep is bc this was written during a really rough time during skz’s life as a group and they truly only had each other at that moment. It’s so heart wrenching but also heart warming at the same time

I second the people recommending Levanter. It's a slightly older choreo, but so so underappreciated. Everyone has a moment to shine in it. It's very lyrical and beautifully done.

What always astonished me is the clever way they do everything. See young men like they are, talking about serious stuff in a helpful and poetic manner gives me hope in humanity. I am grateful for that. Everyone have scars but the way we deal with them is what makes us better or worse people. I like Stray Kids and I am sorry that I will never be able to see them live. That's life. I will be here rooting for them though.

"It's less to do with dancing" - I agree with the sentiment behind your thought string on this, but I think that pedestrian moments like this are actually a core part of dance - using physical movement to tell a story. Hence, I think instead that this moment isn't at all LESS to do with dancing - it's just another facet of dance that too many people choose to ignore.

The guy with the STRONG voice is Changbin (my bias 🤭❤) and one of the best rappers on the industry. We can appreciate more of his rap skills on other songs like District9, Easy, My Pace and b-sides like Maze of Memories or his Cypher (where by the way he showed us the beat of this song and the same rap he did here but in korean). He's also one of the producers of SKZ and also part of 3RACHA. Japanese songs always hit different. My favorites are "All in" and "TOP" (which they did for the opening of the Tower of God anime). Other songs with this same style could be Levanter, Voices, Mirror and Phobia.

[Levanter] and [애(OH)] and [BLUE PRINT] are recommended. There are emotional parts of them and the lyrics are very good. And they have quite a few sad ballads too!

Enjoy your reactions, thank you. There are many that you might enjoy: Voices- special version kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJbPZ2hprLKWjac Easy - MV kzbin.info/www/bejne/jou2p2aXgqyaa7M dance practice kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGeVmaB-fLJ0hKc "타" (sounds like Cha) dance practice kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5rRimSGab2hbLs Levanter M/V kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKHKlWaXmJiSpK8 dance practice kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6a6dWt5atiibbc Anything from the NoEasy album or the In life or any of their mini albums. It's a bit of a rabbit hole but hope that you enjoy the process. There are so many, types of music that they have tackled with different meanings behind their discography and chorography. Fun ones to serious, some dealing with mental health issues others with the basic surviving (like this one) the rigors of the Idol system. They have touched on the struggles of growing up, so much and all of is reflected in their movements and expressions.
