Released in February 1961 as a single from the album of the same name. The song went to #3 on Billboard. It was banned by the BBC and couldn't be played on British radio stations.

Really? Wow, just because it sounded to them that way, they banned it? Really strange. I do understand that you can understand the song that way, but it might not necessarily be meant that way and even if it did, why ban it? Anyway, thanks for sharing this song and this story!

If you get a chance, watch the movie "Pirate Radio". Great music in it. They were broadcasting rock music from a ship at sea because the British government wouldn't allow it.
