It’s crazy to hear the direction music has went. I’m 50yrs & I was a grip/2nd engineer at Can Am studios when Death Row pretty much took over the studios. I worked between studio A & B. I was there for about a year and a half & I was able to watch how Death Row artist did their thing during my time there. I remember 2Pac would go between studio A & B daily/nightly. I remember it was so many other artist and producers that they don’t talk much about today that was there just as much. Everything changed after 2Pac was shot though. It like people were still there but it was just different. I remember a producer by the name of JohnnyJ did a ton of work with 2Pac and people dont talk much about him. He was really cool. I think he was Mexican or something. I remember he would call me the “PatchMan” because I knew the patch bay so well in the studios. And I was always the one that had to make sure we had enough good patch cords on hand if needed for aux sends/returns. I left there around Dec 96 & I went back to Kissimmee FL which is next to Orlando to work for Transcontinental Studios. There I had the opportunity to work for Lou Pearlman. He was the CEO and had grouped under him such as Backstreet Boys, LFO, NSYNC,etc. During my time there I would be with Aaron Carter daily. He was working on his album and mainly I remember running him down just to get him in the booth to track his vocals. Johnny Wright had an office there but he was almost never actually there. I only seen him maybe twice in 6mon. Lou would pull up in a blue vintage Rolls Royce. Yeah, I have a ton of stories I can tell. The 90s was like no other
