Little fun fact that you may already know! The vocals for this song come from the 1998/2005 Macintosh software "Vocalwriter", by the company KAE Labs. ALT uses the "Sarah" voice in the software. I have a few videos showing the Sarah voice, though it sounds a bit muffled- I'm not sure if that's just the older version, or if its the sound being imperfect due to it playing on an emulated mac- but you can still tell it is the same voice! Maybe I'll make a tutorial on getting it to run on windows someday! As well as possibly seeing if I can manage to get the 2005 2.0 version working..... Though i might just look for an old macbook that'll run the versions it requires for that.

I know you wrote this a year ago, but thank you for this explanation. I was hoping someone on the comments would have some info on this. Very fascinating!
Unfamiliar with the redness of your lips, waiting as we go to Nihonbashi Your older sister's hand-me-down yukata is a bit too short And it's dyed with a pattern of pale moonflowers Saying "it looks good on you" but I keep on holding my smile I walk behind you as we walk past waves of people Don't forget me, as I try keeping up with you like a restless sparrow You anxiously looked at your watch And then I noticed the light brown hair ornaments we bought from Asakusa Next to the plain me I can see your back while I walk behind you Getting closer, step by step with a sullen face My back gets pushed by the shaking of the coming train Without thinking, I grabbed your arm I'm embarrassed but I'm happy Let's go like this to Sumidagawa If we pass through the ticket gate, we'll exit in front of Sumidagawa Saying "We still have time" I turned back and began to walk All of a sudden, you disappeared in the crowd I feel like I'll start to cry but then someone grabbed the brim of my sash Repeatedly chanting "excuse me!" as we pass through the shops as we head to Sensoji Temple Like two bothersome goldfishes swimming against the current You tossed your offertory in the box And I flustered as you whisper your wishes for love The setting sun illuminating us, making excuses to tease each other You pretended to looked troubled and pouted to extend the time longer As an apology for teasing you, the strawberry flavored shaved ice you made me buy tasted salty like tears Let's go back soon to Sumidagawa and do this again and remember how we tricked ourselves to be happy Burning lights of red, blue, and purple reflect on the sparkling water's surface A roaring sound shakes my chest as bursts of light bloom in the night sky one to three feet away Even when the summer is over, or next year or the year after that, even after five or ten years Hoping that we'll still be together forever shouting "Tamaya! Kagiya!" You look up in awe and the strawberry shaved ice began to melt and drip on your feet. I took out a handkerchief and wiped it off There is no other place with such gentle happiness other than Sumidagawa Fireworks bloom in the night sky

@@WiktoriaSzalaty vocaloid is more realistic! Lol hahah! No. A vocoder is which is being used in this song. The composer himself is singing the vocal live, with his vocoder, thus making it "More realistic" try again.

@@pb879 Vocoder isn't using. Vocalwriter was used for this song - voicebank Sarah aka Alt. Vocalwriter is a vocal synth for Macintosh - released before Vocaloid

There were many artists before him that used vocoders in their music. Also Zapp & Rogers made the talk box popular as well before Murai-San.

Today, I had the insatiable urge to listen to this song. And I kept telling my mom... "Do you know what song I'm thinking of? I'm thinking of A.I. DATE POP." I didn't know the English translation of the name...only the genre...and I couldn't get it out of my head. Was so glad when I came back home. :D Even introduced it to my mom, and she likes it!
