From your cost breakdown, it seems like the largest expenses are the building and brokerage fees. The actual cost of the moving company seems very reasonable. In the US, building fees are also very high. The biggest difference is probably the brokerage fee. In most US cities, the landlord pays the entire brokerage fee, the tenant pays nothing. NY is one notable exception. In my case, when I moved from NY to Miami a few years ago, I think my total cost was about $5,000, of which $3,000 was the moving company plus insurance and $2,000 was building fees. No other expenses needed. It’s a stressful time to move, so I’m glad you got it all done やった and can focus on more important projects for a while. 💃🥷🚴‍♀
