A Journey into Ethiopia's Soul | SLICE

Ethiopia is a patchwork of climates - alpine, arid, desert, tropical. In less than a hundred kilometers I went from the stifling heat of the Danakil desert to the mild climate of the eucalyptus-covered Wolo mountains.
In this vast country, where sorghum, teff and above all coffee were discovered, there are no tractors; everything is done by hand, as in the early days of agriculture, and I rubbed shoulders with the proud Afar, Oromo, Tigrayan, Dorzé and Amhara farmers, who are among the 80 ethnic groups that make up Ethiopia.
This country, which feeds the imagination of writers and travelers in search of adventure, a change of scenery or simply spirituality - with its ancient Orthodox religion - is fascinating.
