My best friend of 13 year's battled drug addiction for year's, opioids controlled every aspect of her life and eventually in the final two month's of her life...heroin came into the picture. She battled her demons for year's and it kills me to say that on May 29, 2020...she lost the fight at age 24. Her mom found her in the bathroom with the needle still in her arm. I tried so hard to get her help and into rehab and she just never wanted it, she pushed anyone away who mentioned rehab...she just didn't want anything to do with it. Even though she didn't want help...I still feel like I could've tried harder. Almost 7 month's later, reality has set in. First Christmas in 13 year's without her...I still feel a tremendous amount of guilt for not trying harder. Her mom hates me for not trying harder to help her daughter...even though I tried. She never wanted help. I'm lost without my best friend and some day's I just want to be with her again. This song really hits close to home.

I'm really really sorry - life can be so complicated and drugs to me are the scourge of the earth. There is not a soul that they don't touch in some way. The pain is massive. I know.

I actually started writing this up a few months ago as I was annoyed I couldn’t find the lyrics online. Found this today trying to make sure I had the screaming section right.
