Mr. Dayton is part of the Dayton family that founded TARGET and Dayton's dept. store. I read a book about the history of Dayton's and there is a lot to thank that family for. Our last governor was Mark Dayton from the same famiiy
its so cool and interesting to see that someone from over 80 years ago had such an open mindset and embraced the korean culture while living and working there, while also giving their western perspective on things
Wow! Thank you guys for sharing this with us. Those personal letters were so touching, I can't believe they actually were donated to the library. I will forever be grateful to America for helping in the Korean War. Without the United States and other Union Countries being involved. We wouldn't ' have a free South Korea. To all the armed forces involved, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. God Bless all the military, and God Bless America. ๐บ๐ธ ๐ฐ๐ท
As a Asian American, and knowing yโallโs relationship. Iโm so happy that you are learning about his Asian heritage/cultures of Korea, and a lot of Korean American crossover.
The Minneapolis public library is so beautiful and clean inside. Itโs amazing how few people are seen using this space. As for the letters, it must be thrilling to read them and be transported back in time to the 1940s to 1950s.
Oh wow!! As a Korean-American born in Seoul, raised in the US, this is really eye opening to discover. Iโm learning more about Korea through videos like these. Thank you so much for taking the time to make and post this. I hope there is a part 2. โค
