Yeah, at least when I was 14, I didn't notice the rampant racism/sexism/homophobia that exists everywhere constantly. Being an adult just opens your eyes to everything, and then you realize your parents are those things that you hate to notice... suddenly you're drifting away cold, angry, depressed, sad.. alone. Everyone you loved you now can't stand to be around because they're hateful for everyone, and you're scared to grow attached to someone else because what if they keep you in the dark about all of their negatives just to show how horrible they are when you finally start caring again...

@@IlllIlIIllllIllIIIlIllI I'm 40 years old and over the last couple of years I've noticed an an increasing attempt to show everything I liked as problematic in some form. We used to think the middle ages was a dark and barbaric time it is very strange indeed to have your formative years and the decade you happen to be from seen as backwards even though I remember it as a positive time and no rose tinted glasses. But this music and the liminal space movement tells me that times now must be so horrible that twenty-somethings wish for a time when they were in the play pen as if that was the last time they were truly happy.
