the skip was awesome, when you just tried them on.., and wanted to move around a bit. I tried these on, about a week ago, at the local shop, even though I came in for a different shoe. I still have yet to make a choice. Keep up the great work.

Thanks … I was maybe a little too excited with the new shoes!! Great shoe. The adjustability works so well out on the trails … tighter for the tech / fast stuff , looser for easy flats…

Ive been waiting for this video since I started following you James!! :) You have always mentioned your frustrations with lock down in some shoes and combine that with your fav shoe so of the year.. couldnt be better?!! :) They look great. I'm going for these for my next pair for sure.

Just got my pair in the mail yesterday. I’ve gone through three pairs of the MB this “season” and they’ve been fantastic. Hoping the BOA will be my race shoe for easy adjusting! Thanks for the video.

Just took them out on a hilly, muddy and quite technical trail run for 90 mins, the adjustability is great 👍… especially when wanting to pick up the pace and the downs- thanks Christopher

Altra or Hoka? I'm a huge Hoka fan but I feel like Hoka is behind the times in the midsole game. I'm curious about Altra shoes but worried about the zero drop. Great video 👍

I am loving my mont blanc boa. I think it's my favorite trail shoe of the year 2022. Zero heel zlippage the boa completely fixes it. However... As it is with all Altras, some stitches are already falling apart and I am only 60 k into the shoes. No big deal with minor repairs they can get fixed and should I say have to get fixed fairly quickly or the whole stitching will fall apart. That being said it is INSANE. THE GRIP IS INSANE. THE FIT AND THE LOOKS IT'S BEAUTIFUL

Your first pair of laced you had problems with the thin tongue. Did that still need fixing with pair 2 and does the Boa fix the issue for good?
@movemorenowjames
@movemorenowjames 2 жыл бұрын
That’s a great point, haven’t noticed any issues yet as the pressure is spread evenly across the top of the foot due to the boa system. Will keep an eye on it but I think it should be fine…

I'm used to seeing BOAs on cycling shoes, but this is my first time seeing it on a running shoe. Can't wait to hear what you think after a few more runs. Is the BOA more expensive than the lace version? Great initial look James.
@movemorenowjames
@movemorenowjames 2 жыл бұрын
They are about £30 more but have to say already worth it. The adjustability is amazing, snug for the those technical, fast parts and then easy to relax them slightly for the flats etc … Just finished my first run, 90 mins on muddy and quite technical trails - they worked really well. Impressed.
@TrailSage
@TrailSage 2 жыл бұрын
@@movemorenowjames That was going to be my next question. So the BOA didn't get clogged up with mud? I wonder what would happen in colder conditions if moisture gets in there and it freezes.

How would this shoe perform in the winter season in the UK in somewhere like the peak district? The lugs seem a bit shallow so would be good to get your thoughts
@markthomasson5077

I got the first MB in size 45, the second pair 44,5 and that fit me a little better. Not really and huge heelslip, more of almost sliding of the sole inside, going more techniqual. In the BOA I got 45 just cause I was hoping the BOA would fix the issues I had. I feel so locked in with the BOA ! Its amazing…I agree on the Mont Blanc beeing the shoe of the year for me to 😁

I will probably try this one. I think the regular mont blanc would have been fine in an 11 for me. Tried an 11.5 but I'm between the two sizes depending on which altra I have. The midsole and upper felt amazing and the grip is much better than any of their trail shoes. It was just too much heel slipping and I think sizing down plus the boa would be perfect. Thanks James for the review!
@movemorenowjames
@movemorenowjames 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely think the boa helps with the heel - just finished a pretty technical, hilly + muddy trail run, they worked great. Really got a snug fit when needed then relaxed on the easy parts ..

They differ from most BOA in having two tighteners, I would worry the lower one is going to get damaged, or possibly worse catch on things.

On more challenging trails with rocks and roots and ruts, I still prefer my Lone Peaks over my MBs. But given the nice flattish offroad your trails look like, I can see why you like the MBs. The Boa just takes it to another level of fit I'm sure.

I agree, the has better ground feel but have to say, just the MB boa on some quite technical trails and the adjustability of the shoe is great

The comfort and fit sound great James. 😊👍 I love a bit of white on a trail shoe big fan of that. But the brown midsole 🤔 bad choice IMO they should of slapped a white midsole on there 👌 also with the boa and lack of lacing I am getting a slight bowling shoe vibe 🤣 but that said looks aren't what it's all about and its very subjective and its mainly about being comfort and performance and I am sure that shoe will have it. 😎🤘
