Yeah, Rob heard it that way growing up and even though he knew it was wrong he decided to do it the way he remembered (even though it doesn't make sense. There's a couple other instances that he knew about too.. but I"ll leave that discussion up to him to explain)
@coursgeanty9579 Жыл бұрын
@coursgeanty9579 Жыл бұрын
Just to let you know we can not pronounce a "Z" sound between "plus" and "haute" (branche).

"Lui a longtemps que je t'aime", the PCCB do the mistake as well, even though they're french.. weird. You make a great version of this :-)
@alfredtherien77915 жыл бұрын
Emmanuel explique Bitcoin Not a mistake! Here’s something you’ll find interesting: I’m French Canadian and I learned this song in the early 1950’s. My parents sang it to me, everybody in my family knew it, and it was always pronounced “lui a” instead of “il y a”. I eventually read the lyric in more than one folksong book and was intrigued to realize it was actually written that way: “Lui a longtemps que je t’aime”. It turned out it was a holdover from Old French, most probably pre-1760, which is the year the English conquered French Canada, and thus the year after which the French language evolved in Canada independently from its evolution in France.

If you ever get the chance, there was a fantastic folk singer in the 60's/70's that did a version of this. Hunt out Bonnie Dobson. I think her version will change the way you do yours.

Gg good pronunciation, i don't know what version of the text you have take but "il y a lontemps que je t'aime" you say lui "sous les feuilles d'un chêne" you say "de" "sur la plus haute branche" you had granted "sous" and "haute" but you should not do that "pour un bouquet de roses" you say "le" and "un" sinon bonne continuation
