Hi there !
I can’t express how fun it was to be editing again. This vlog is back to the typical mish-mash of footage from several days, returning from the daily-vlog format.
It means lengthier editing time (around 20 hours for this one), because I spend lots of time meticulously composing the scenes and deciding how I want them to piece together. I guess you can say it’s a very perfectionist part of me, because I’d go back and make cuts/edits again and again, seemingly catching something new in each sweep.
Aside from taking the break with video editing etc, I’ve also been experiencing problems on the youtube side of things. If you’ve noticed really odd/excessive midroll ads in my videos- I have no control over that in my video settings. It frustrates me since I’m unable to remove them (the section where I normally could is blank.) I contacted youtube in the last week of JANUARY, and now, halfway through February, somebody’s been emailing back and forth with me.
They said my case is sent to the “internal team” and I will hear back in a few days………..
Either way, apologies for that if you’ve been noticing that. I don’t know if it’s a glitch, since I experience the same thing no matter which computer or wifi network I’m on.
That caused a bit of subconscious stress in the last month (since it hasn’t fixed itself like I thought), but I remind myself to not focus on that. The whole point of me being here is because I have fun editing and I’m passionate about storytelling! So during this laid back week, I’ve been taking my time to really edit frame-by-frame, not worrying about the post-upload drama. It’s great, I’m so happy to be here.
Thank you for continuing to stick with me throughout my experiences, and I can’t wait to share more of them with you.
Now that the years I’ve been vlogging are building up, I thought it’d be fun to link past vlogs from February at the end. I go back and watch them every once in a while, and gape at out things in the past seem different each time you look back to it from a point in the future.
I still have the same goals: to stay true to myself being on of them. That being said, there are some lifestyle choices I’ve made (particularly affecting my consumer habits.)
If you notice my product/clothing links are different now, it’s because I still wear old pieces I’ve collected in the past, but no longer want to buy from/support fast fashion stores. Instead of linking similar items in those places, I will just say from now on that they are old pieces of mine. That’s sort of the temporary solution, as I continue to develop my stance and how I go about expressing myself. It’s a start.
Let me know how your year has been! This is crazy but… before we know it, it’ll be 2020. Is that weird? I’m gonna be old and gray before I know it, too! Because time seems constant, but can’t help but slip to ‘past’ as we’re propelled forward without choice. Live your days being true to yourself. If it’s anything you do in this world that counts, it’s that. If you don’t know, well, here’s to dedicating time and thought to finding it-

this is exactly what I need right now. I’ve had a really stressful art project for class and it’s gone pretty horribly, but I finally finished it today :) there are some parts that I absolutely hate about it, but I am proud of a few of the things I put in it. I lost a lot of sleep because of it, and I am so relieved knowing that I don’t have to think about it now. in addition to this, I’ve gotten sick twice this month. I’m not sure exactly how that happened, but the vast majority of the days have been filled with me sniffing and coughing. I am so grateful that you uploaded today ❤️

aw man, i can 100% relate to the frustration and disappointment in an art project that didn't go as you'd hope. but i happened to randomly think about something today that i feel like may be useful- we're often told to live everyday to the fullest, like it's our last... but i think, we also need to live thinking, "we have the rest of our lives", too. what I mean by this is so that we could realize that some things in life takes time and lots of hard work, and it's okay if we don't fulfill goals right away.. that's why we have each day after the next to improve ourselves; we are a work in progress. this allows me to not be so hard on myself, to focus more on having commitment to my art practice and working hard, and not focus so much on the superficial/final look of a project! either way- also sucks to hear you got sick. I think the stress definitely caused it, especially if you haven't been getting good sleep. drink lots of fluids, even if you're well now! having lots of water actually improves so many aspects of your health (I'm told, but I'm also really bad about drinking water.) I'm so grateful for you, for the time you spent here. Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment. I've been seeing several comments actually saying that it bettered someone's day, even if it was just a little, it makes my heart swell. sending you my love ❤️
