A LAMP EXPLODES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This lamp was DOA.. At $5 I figured it was more worthwhile to try to repair than return.. During the repair, the lamp takes a turn for the worst and explodes..

A somewhat similar thing happened to me when I was a kid. I don't remember exactly how old I was, probably around 5 or 6. I had put a bulb in a socket of a table lamp, and said buld was way too small. I tried turning the lamp on, and it made a pretty good shock. I wasn't hurt, but it scared the crap out of me. Glad you didn't get hurt in anyway.

@@JordanU yes 100 percent true you can go to a local thrift store and buy a old but made right lamp for5 or 6 dollars that still works!!! I stay with old stuff anyway better quality stereo's fans walkmans etc I like old!!!

DECENT! Finally, some action! At least your circuit breaker works! The cordset is probably fine for other nefarious testing purposes; if you don't like the prong now, that can be addressed with a grinder wheel on a Dremel that you don't have.

The cordset is fine, and was put back on the lamp when the socket was replaced.. Didn't even have to do anything to the prong, it still fits in an outlet just fine..

This happened to be with my alarm clock trying to repair it forgetting that it was plugged in. I was doing it on my carpet and it left a crusty black circle in my carpet. I had to cut it out and replace that one area with a new peice of carpet.

These small lamps are neat..Shame that one died..lol Iv got a few of these small lamps like this from the late 90's. I guess these were very popular during the 90's for decoration.

The lamp that explode have many possibilities: - The lamp is rated as 100V AC. In USA is rated 120V when Indonesia is 220V - Wiring mistaken

@@JordanU There was a malfunctioning lamp that I plugged in when I was a kid. When I plugged it in, I heard a loud sizzle sound and saw a bunch of sparks then alot of white smoke. When the smoke cleared, I saw that the lamp cord had no rubber left on it at all. It had burned completely off and the smell from it was terrible. That one scared the mess out of me!
