I think it's a good decision since it will make every video you upload on the main channel have actual quality behind them instead of just being gameplay. It also helps to differentiate people who prefer more quality content and those who want a tutorial on a challenge or something.

Very good decision, I get that you want to have more "refined" content or have more edited videos on your main channel but still care for the people who enjoy raw gameplay, overall good choice.
