Thank yall for all the love and thank you for recording Acoustic Shoppe :) Congratulations to all the winners!!! I actually fell and injured my left arm and back of my left hand moments before going onstage to the finals and did not perform nearly as well as I should have (You can see some blood on my knuckles at 13:14 and couple of bandaids on my left arm’s elbow) But next year, I won’t have that excuse lol. Everyone was playing at such a high caliber. What an exciting time to be a fingerstyle guitarist!

I’m sure he usually is. But he let his nerves get the better of him here. That first piece was a messy muddle of scratches mottled with patches of brilliance. No timing. I am sure he kicked himself later. Would love to see more of him when he is composed and confident.

Jason Ji was fabulous and deserved an award too, the camera man and sound man should have worked out ahead of time where the microphone should be, sadly the microphone covered and blocked the amazing finger work we all came here to see., but thanks for the amazing show real music for real people no gimmicks just a man and his guitar!

I didn’t recognize Stephen at fist, with no beard and a haircut ( I was sitting about where the side camera is viewing so I couldn’t see the name placard) but his playing was superb and unlike many of the competitors who used original compositions, Stephens’s music has harmonic elements elements that show composition and knowledge of progression to resolution. Bravo

I don't know who sits on the jury and who evaluates this, but for me it's an absolute blast. The winning guy is a nice guy, but if I'm going to judge the style of play, they were significantly better there and the same goes for second and third place. 🤷‍♂️

Naw. .not really. I don't even think Jason would agree and they all got recognition. No one is ever forgetting Jason's name after that shih....sometimes getting robbed is better. I still remember the movie Wonder Boys' because Michael douglas got heavy robbed, as did Frances and Tobey IIRC. That movie was more than a soundtrack but it wasn't 'grandiose' so whatever ... My point is ...I don't remember ANY movies that got nominated that year. Only remember the one movie that got robbed but remember every actor, everything in that movie.
