This is the very model of what EVERY KZbin review video should be. 1). It's direct and to the point. 2). It's a well focused (pun sort of intended) and professional. 3). It is devoid of every "KZbin Review" trope infecting KZbin today. Such as the well worn "Whaddup KZbin" or "Hi and Welcome back to my channel." How can you be welcomed back to a channel that you've never visited in the first place? 4). The presenter is speaking to us. He's having a conversation with you and me. Not talking to us in that very stilted way 99.9% of all KZbin reviewers do today. Especially pronouncing every "the" as "THEE" and every instance of the letter "a" as "AYE" instead of the conventional "uh" sound (example below). 5). The presenter doesn't spend the first five minutes talking about nothing. "Reviews" today find the reviewer often repeating himself and then...finally...pronounces: "So let's get into it." 6). This review video Uses a nice music bed and not the same five royalty free beds that most every KZbinr has been using over and over and over for the last 7 years. You know the ones: trip-hop beat with some sped up and pitched up vocals in deep reverb. So, to put it all the above tropes together: "Yo, whaddup KZbin and Welcome back to my channel. Today I'm gonna review THEE best camera ever made: THEE Leica Q. It's not "AYE" perfect camera, but it's THEE one I use every day. So today I'm gonna review THEE Leica Q. THEE one thing "AYE" lot of my friends ask is how long THEE battery lasts. I'll talk about that in "AYE" minute. Now, Leica didn't send me this camera, I used my own money to review THEE Leica Q. I've used it to capture my dog, for weekend street photography, even at parties with friends. I've shot it "AYE" lot so I'm going to review THEE Leica Q today. Now, THEE one thing I will say is I needed three batteries, and I could've used "AYE" fourth to get me through THEE day, but I'll talk about that as I review THEE Leica Q. So, without further ado ... Let's get into it." Ugg! Most review videos are absolute trash filled with the kind of nonsense above. Most are completely unwatchable. But this video, this review, this presentation is a masterclass on how to review a product.

Bought my Leica Q used 2 years ago and couldn't be happier. Fantastic lens, fast, easy to navigate menus, classic, intuitive layout of controls and beautiful, perfectly balanced to hold. I've not had any dust issues and when I contacted Leica with the serial number they confirmed it was not one of the very early production models that had this problem. I just love this camera and the 28mm perspective for travel and street photography. I find battery life fine but always carry a spare just in case. Not at all interested in the Q2 as I think 24 megapixels is a real 'sweet spot' for this camera.

could not agree more, LeicaQ is the BEST camera that I have ever used. It's made me fall in love with taking pictures again. It is perfect in every sense.

Great review. It still looks in good condition. Did you use a case or a grip or lens cap? Would you recommend taping the microphone and speaker on a Q2?

Hello! I have a Q 2 since June and used it a few times. When it comes to Streetphotography or Portraiture I frankly have Problems with the Autofocus, especially with a wide open Aperture. First I tried "Face Detection", which didn't work consistently and in worst Case the Camera operates in "Multifield-Focussing". 1-Field-Metering didn't make the Job either, so I work in most of the Cases with Spot-Focus. What am I doing wrong or have to consider? Thank you for your answer in advance and Best Regards!

If dust can infiltrate the sensor, does that mean that the Leica Q is not weather resistant?
@crazykenbei4 жыл бұрын
It's inevitable with any fixed lens camera. Just this one cost several thousand dollars.
@msbrownbeast4 жыл бұрын
Which is even more strange, because dust is most likely to infiltrate the sensor during a lens switch, but the Q has a non-removable lens. So that means dust is getting in from unknown sources.
@markhoffman96554 жыл бұрын
@@crazykenbei Why is dust intrusion "inevitable" ? With a fixed prime lens it should be virtually impossible eexcept for poor design and/or sloppy build tolerances.

@@markhoffman9655 petapixel.com/2019/06/19/two-issues-i-had-with-the-leica-q2-in-the-1st-month-dust-and-banding/ There is more ways of entry for dust to enter. And the issue is more paramount in the Leica q cause of price.Ususally people shrug it off and continue using it or they replace it with another camera. If you use your fixed lens camera on a daily basis frequently the issue will pop up in some manner long term.
@markhoffman96554 жыл бұрын
@@crazykenbei Quite surprised that $5000 US camera has same problem as my Canon Powershot compact. Rather begs the question of Leica design as my Olympus E-M5 MKII has stood up to saltwater, rain, sand, dust and fish slime for three years with no water intrusion or dust on the sensor ( and that's with hundreds of lens changes). Pity because that's one of the few FF cameras I'd like to get one day.
@ultimatechrisso65924 жыл бұрын
Dust in a 5000€ (or bit less for q) fixed lens camera is an absolute deal breaker imo ... If there is one thing I hate as photographer it is dust on a camera sensor. You must be able to clean a sensor by yourself in such a price range or just buy a much cheaper x100v instead. Such a dilemma it's missing the full rame sensor :(

I like the idea of Q but sometime I want a wider view, is it really feel limited to shoot architecture or close up group photos when eating on small table?
